1949 Ford Street Rod Barn Find
Description
OK, it's not really in a barn. It's in my garage in SUNBURY, PA. I guess it's not even a "find" because I knew it was there all along.
The point is that is sat there for 23 years and I need the floor space. I thought about hanging it from the ceiling, but I'm sure the joists will not hold LOL, so out it goes. Cash takes up so little room. :-)
It goes to the first person to cross my palm with cash.
The car is a 1949 Ford Tudor, It is NOT A BUSINESS COUPE.
I have a clean title in hand in my name. No problems there.
It is a good solid body.
The engine was rebuilt by a professional and has less than 500 miles since then.
It is a 400 small block 4 bolt main engine with a mild cam and Holly 4 barrel (That is probably $5,000.00 right there).
The engine starts and runs.
The transmission is a 350 Turbo.
Body work was done professionally.
The hood, trunk and doors have been shaved, the headlights and tail lights are frenched.
The bumpers are welded to the body and the body seams are closed.
It comes with two rare items....a period visor and period fender skirts.
Since it is still a work in progress, it sports black primer.
The interior has four custom professionally upholstered bucket seats.
The headliner and interior sun visors were done by the same professional to match the seats.
It needs door panels and carpet. I will give you a bolt of fabric and carpet to finish the job.
Dash is from an 80's olds or Chevy.
OK, here is the bad. In the past 23 years a wheel cylinder has dried out and the fluid escaped....no brakes.
The auto transmission fluid has done the same.
I will consider trades of a solid VW Bug 1967 or older or a U.S. Military motorcycle 1945 or older or an AR-15.
The hard work is done. Come get it and make it yours.
