Description

After spending most of her life in the south, this version of "Henry's Lady" several year's ago underwent a complete restoration of chassis, body, engine and interior. Currently home is in Western New York where she spends her winters garaged, blocked and covered until the latter days of spring. Additions made over time include dual six volt Optima vertical celled batteries wired in parallel. A chrome radiator stone guard has been added as was a Moto-Meter radiator temperature thermometer. Door hinge mounted side view "Peep-Mirrors" with the passenger side being convex provide an additional margin of safety when changing lanes. Bumper inserted LED directionals with a hazard light feature and a rear window interior mounted LED stop light compliment the original left fenders single stop, tail and license plate lamp. Headlamp and cowl lenses have been replaced as were all of the six volt bulbs.
Floor boards were given several coats of varnish and covered with a new full rubber floor mat. The fuel tank has been chemically cleaned and correctly lined to prevent any rust formation and a new teeter-totter fuel gauge with a synthetic float was added. A driver's side vacuum windshield wiper motor replaced the original hand operated system. Although the odometer is currently non-functional and the actual mileage is unknown, estimated mileage since ownership has been less than 500 miles. The oil is changed regularly and each fall prior to storage, a stabilizer is added to a full fuel tank. Modern chassis grease fittings replaced the originals that required an antiquated grease fitting. She has been recently tuned with new spark plugs and the distributor has been fitted with modern ignition points, a new condensor, rotor, distributor cap, ignition coil and coil wire. Her timing is spot on and she will start with a few turns of a remanufactured starter. Right and left side hood props allow a partial lift of the hood for any routine maintenance; such as an oil level check and a Ford fender cover will protect the paint if and when other service may be needed. Also included with the sale is an all weather semi-custom car cover, a scissor jack with a home-fabricated block for lifting the rear axle and a combination crank and lug nut wrench that neatly stow under the seat. To say that she is absolutely perfect would be untruthful as there have been a few paint chips that have been touched up and do not take away from her beauty considering she is eighty-seven years young. The beige mohair seat has several extremely small imperfections that for the most part are unnoticeable. Her exterior is finished in Ford's original paint colors of a Chicle Drab body, Copra Drab roof, Straw spoked wheels and Straw accent striping. A Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook by Les Andrews which is a complete guide for service and maintenance of the car will be included with the sale. While driving this seldom seen example of American motor history, expect to receive a number of horn toots and "thumbs up" from other motorists and pedestrians as well. The real fun is reciprocating with the unusual sound of her new Sparton "A-OOGAH" horn!
