1968 mustang convertible kr 500 clone

I have restored Mustang as a hobby for over thirty years. I have several show cars. The story of this car was too much for me to pass up. I have never owned a real Shelby but have sold paint to a national restorer of Shelbys for over twenty five years. This car was shipped from Wisconsin in 1970 and according to the owners wife who passed away he had spent over thirty years coverting his 68 C code convertible to a KR 500 clone. What I did was finish the car. He had a 351 Cleveland built with the big heads, roller rockers, aluminum radiator, auto trans, no power steering. The ran ran a little ruff since it had never been driven. I had it professionally new gaskets, flushed, tuned and it runs and drives super. All the front end has been rebuilt,including disc brakes and springs. Car handles and steers like it should. It had sat so long it is dirty underneath, which makes it a great driver. The passenger floor had one small patch (see photo) the rest of the floors I believe are original. Front and rear frame rails are original and very nice. From the pictures what you see is original factory red oxide primer. I professionally repainted the car base, clear urethane it is show quality. 90% of old paint was removed. The car had an older single stage paint job, which again dated when this work had been done was quite a while ago which help justify the story. The conv top was brand new and was originally a manual top car. I added motor, pistons, and lines to make it power. I never hooked the power feed from the motor to the switch. Shelby wheels and tires are like brand new. Most chrome is new, bumper, exterior door handles, most weatherstrip, Correct interior is new,again from him, carpet is new, correct woodgrain dash, repro console with correct shelby logo and after market gauges, oil and temp. Oil gauge works temp does not. Horn works all lites work car is super fast, nice tight driving. Brakes work very good. Fog lites are directly wired to the headlites. Underneath is nice, but to show quality would need re detailed. Car is ready to enjoy I have had my fun putting the car together and it has turned out very nice. It was a fun project but time for someone else to enjoy. Please don't waste my time if you have no intentions to purchase the car. I can assist with shipping anywhere in the world.
