1943 FORD JPW ORIGINAL WW2 COMBAT JEEP ....LOW RESERVE
Description
LOW RESERVE..!!!!!
1943 GPW FORD JEEP...ALL ORIGINAL, BOUGHT FROM THE SECOND OWNER WHO BOUGHT IT FROM A WW2 VET.
THIS JEEP IS SUPPOSEDLY A BRING BACK. HAS SEEN COMBAT, WAS OVER IN THE ETO.
THE STORY GOES, THE WW2 VET HAD BOUGHT IT FROM A GOV AUCTION IN 1946 AFTER IT HAD BEEN RETURNED FROM THE ETO.
THE SECOND OWNER BOUGHT IT FROM THE ESTATE SALE OF THE VET WHEN HE DIED, THE VET NEVER REGISTERED IT..
THE SECOND OWNER (KOREAN WAR VET 75) REGISTERED IT, AND HE SAID IT HAD STAMPED ON THE ORIGINAL GOV PAPERWORK "RETURN SERVICE" WHICH MEANT BRING IT HOME...
UNFORTUNATLY HE DIDNT HAVE THE NOTION TO MAKE A COPY OF IT, BUT HE TOLD ME THIS A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT....AND THE DMV TAKES THE PAPERWORK WHEN YOU REGISTER IT...
ANYWAY..THE JEEP IS IN GREAT SHAPE..I THINK HE DID REPAINT THE STARS AND REG NUMBERS..ORIGINAL FORD TUB, NO ROT, VERY SOLID, NO BODY WORK...SOME WELDING DONE IN THE BACK CORNER, I THINK THIS IS ORIGINAL IN THE FIELD WORK...
IT ONLY HAS 5300 MILES ON IT..THE FIRST OWNER HAD IT ON HIS FARM IN HIS BARN, NEVER DROVE IT,. THE SECOND OWNER ONLY PUT ABOUT 200 MILES ON IT IN THE 10 YEARS HES OWNED IT...ONLY DRIVING IT IN PARADES..
HE PUT NEW BRAKES AND A CLUTCH IN IT...
IT DRIVES GREAT, STARTS RIGHT UP, NO OIL BURNING, DOESNT LEAK...OCCASIONAL DRIP BUT NO PUDDLES..
GOES THROUGH THE GEARS NO PROBLEM, 4 WD WORKS GREAT, IVE DRIVEN IT UP TO 50 MPH AND ITS STABLE, STOPS AND GOES GREAT.STARTS ON THE FIRST TURN..NEW 6 VOLT BATTERY. HAS "F" STAMPINGS ALL OVER ITS PARTS...
IVE PUT ABOUT 300 MILES ON IT SINCE I BOUGHT IT, AND ITS BEEN IN MY BARN..I LOOKED FOR 3 YEARS AT JEEPS UNTIL I FINALLY FOUND A DECENT ONE...MOST OF THEM HAVE BEEN GONE THRU AND ARE JUNK..THIS ONES UNTOUCHED, UNRESTORED...I DONT WANT TO SELL, BUT IM MOVING AND NEED THE CASH. SO IT MUST GO...
