Description

1968 MUSTANG NORTHWEST GOLD NUGGET SPECIAL. MADE FOR SEATTLE/OREGON PROMOTION. THE DSO 74-1111 WAS A SPECIAL ORDER CODE FOR THE SEATTLE SALES DISTRICT TO CREATE A RUN OF SUNLIT GOLD MUSTANGS. SUNLIT GOLD DENOTED BY THE "Y" CODE ON THE DOOR DATA PLATE. EACH COUPE BUILT WAS PACKAGED WITH A BLACK VINYL TOP,BLACK HOOD PANELS, BLACK STRIPE,WHITE SIDE WALLS AND SIMULATED WIRE WHEELS. GOLD NUGGET CAME WITH A PLAQUE WITH THE OWERS NAME. I DON'T HAVE THE PLAQUE. ALL CARS IN THIS SPECIAL RUN WERE COUPES AND WERE BUILT BETWEEN JAN. 1ST - FEB. 15TH 1968. ANY ENGINE AND TRANNY COULD BE ORDERED. JERRY HEASLEY OF MUSTANG MONTHLY DID A STORYRARE FINDS IN THE MAY 2000 MAGIZINE. ALSO MUSTANGS OF AMERICA DIDONE IN FEB. 2001 VOL #25.INDICATION THIS IS THE SPECIAL ORDER NUMBER IS THE 1111 WHICH APPEARS ON THE DOOR DATA PLATE AFTER THE DSO CODE OF 74 INDICATING THE SEATTLE AREA, THIS 1111 CODE APPEARS TO BE SPECIAL SINCE IT WAS ALSO USED IN 1966 FOR THE SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION MILLIONTH ANNIVERSARY MUSTANGS. THE PROMOTION CALLED FOR 525 CARS TO BE BUILT, BUT PRODUCTION RECORDS SHOWS THAT ONLY 481 WERE ACTUALLY WERE PRODUCED FOR THE PRODUCTION ORDER. "UNCLE BILLS GARAGE" HAS A WEB SITE THAT TRACKS GOLD NUGGET SPECIALS, BUT I HAVE NOT YET REGISTERED THE CAR. I'LL LET THE NEW OWNER DO THAT.

THE CAR:

IT WAS ORDERED BY ERNIE MAJER A DEALER IN SPOKANE,WA. I HAVE THE KEVIN MARTI REPORT ( SEE PICTURE) THAT SHOWS IT BEING A SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL CAR AND DATES THAT IT WAS BUILT AND DELIVERED, TRIM CODE, COLOR, ENGINE, VIN NUMBER AND MORE. I HAVE A CLEAR TITLE ALSO. IT WILL NEED RESTORED. TO ME IT LOOKS AS IF IT IS THE ORGINIAL PAINT.I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN A FIELD NEXT TO A BARN AND AT SOMETIME THE BARN WAS REPAINTED AND THEY DIDN'T BOTHER TO COVER THE CAR SO THERE IS WHITE SPECKED PAINT, SEE PICTURE. THERE IS SOME RUST (ALSO SEE PICTURES) DRIVERS SIDE REAR QUARTER, JUST BEHIND THE WHEEL AND BACK BY THE BUMPER. IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THE BATTERY BOX TRAY AND PART OF THE RADIATOR SUPPORT HAS RUST. THE SHOCK TOWERS SHOWS WERE SOMEONE CUT ACCESS HOLES TO GET TO THE GREASE FITTINGS. I SEEN THIS BEFORE IN OTHER CARS. THE FLOORS ARE IS GREAT CONDITION WITH NO RUST, TORQUE BOXES IN GREAT CONDITION ALSO. THE VINYL TOP IS TORN. I'VE STORED THIS CAR IN A STORAGE UNIT SINCE I'VE OWN IT FOR4 YEARS. THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT WITH NO MAJOR DENTS OR DINGS. I HAVE A 289 AND 3 SPEED TRANNY THAT I WILL INCLUDE BUT THEY ARE NOT ORGINIAL TO THE CAR AND BOTH WILL NEED TO BE REBUILT. I HAVE OTHER PICTURES BUT COULD NOT GET TO USE ALL IN THE AUCTION. SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE SEND ME A EMAIL. BUYER TO DEPOSIT 500.00 24 HRS AFTER AUCTION ENDS AND BALANCE DUE IN 7 DAYS. BUYER TO SET UP TRANSPORTATION. THANK YOU

AFTER REVEIWING THE AUCTION LISTING I SEE THAT THE MARTI REPORT IS NOT VERY CLEAR, I CAN SEND A BETTER PICTURE TO INTERESTED BIDDERS.
