Description

Up for auction is a 55 Ford Victoria 2 door hard top. 292 engine, automatic, power steering, Mustang rear end. The first year we drove the car the original 2 speed automatic crapped out. A friend of mine is a professional transmission builder and he told me the original Ford -A-matic was an air cooled type used in 55-56. He said he wouldn't guarantee the Ford -A-matic and convinced me turbo hydro was the best choice. Those early Ford -A-matics were a poor design from the factory. We looked for a cruise -A-matic but not being able to find one under $1500 we chose the 350 turbo, it worked out great. The original T-Pot 4 barrel carb was changed to a 500 cfm Edelbrock with electric choke. Car starts and runs much better with the Edelbrock. Paint is 2 years old, car was completely stripped of paint down to bare metal, body shop found a million dents to be straightened and only a small spot of rust repair. The guy must have laid everything he owned on the top of the car and hood as that's where most of the dents were. Side moldings were straightened and buffed. Front and back glass good, all side glass replaced. I'm not trying kill anyone on the price, just trying to get enough to fund another project. I saw a car similar to this Ford last year at a classic car dealership in Missouri for $28,000 on Ebay and it was only on 2 days, so I don't think I'm out of line on the price. If it wasn't for the old 36 coupe I'm building the 55 would not be going anywhere. Simple case of needing more money for the little coupe rebuild and wife closed the purse strings. We built this car for the road and have enjoyed many miles going to car cruise-ins. I don't like car shows in particular because of seeing people react really weird when they don't get a trophy. I've seen friends go against friends at car shows, that's why I prefer cruise-ins. It was however entered in 2 judged events and was awarded first place in it's class in both. Fly in, drive home. I would drive this car anywhere. Windshield wipers are a little sticky at times, work better when it rains. $500 deposit required within 5 days of auction end. Balance to be paid when car is picked up. Deposit can be cashier's check or money order. No PayPal-No personal checks.Cash on pick up or wire transfer funds to my bank account. Car cannot be picked up until payment clears my bank. Bid with confidence, bid often and good luck on winning a really nice Saturday night cruiser.
