I added 3 pictures tonight and will add more Thursday the 19th as I just literately dug it out of my shop. When I say it was buried in my shop I meant it. LOL I noticed a rust area inside the trunk at the left rear corner of the trunk floor i the gas tank corner area. I also noticed that the battery must have leaked and it ate away the right front inner fender apron and it also leaked down and ate away ate the lower inner radiator support and the right front inner frame rail. I'll add more pics of this area on the 19th. The quarter panels are original and rust free but do have repairable dents. All the frame rails are near perfect! The car will also have 4 Silver 68/69 styled steel wheels with either plain or GT center caps. This is a South Dakota car and still has a SD title. South Dakota cars are very very low on rust! I'll do more updating as stated on the 19th. Thank you.
On Oct-19-17 at 13:33:59 PDT, seller added the following information:Ok. I have the car out and gave it a going over.First you all want to know the door tag info. It is of course the vin of 8T02J147146 (kinda cool i think 147146, Body is 63B, Color , Trim 6, Date 10, DSO 2, Axle , Trans 5. The body buck tag by right hood hinge has starting from top left corner, 26, then down a line 31 09A 63B 6A, then down another line 8T02J147146 W Yello, then down to last line MC IT ST. So that makes this a Meadowlark Yellow 302 4 Barrel 4 speed car with 3:00 ratio rear end gears and Black vinyl decour group bucket seat interior built on January 10th 1968 at the Metuchen NJ plant. All the original options are still present on this car with the exception of the engine. The valve covers have the C8AE on the decal and C8AE 2 barrel intake so I don't know if it's the original engine that was just swapped to a 2 barrel intake or what it is. I have not taken off a valve cover to see what the heads are stamped. I am including a C8ZF 4 barrel intake and a BARE set of 68 J code heads. The radiator is missing but that's all that is missing. I have a brand new set of back glass moldings in the trunk and a good right headlight bucket. The left quarter panel has a very small hole in front and behind the tire. They are about the size of a quarter of .50 cent piece. Both front floors are soft and will need replacing. Both front torque boxes need just the bottoms repaired or replaced. I would order the 2 piece type and use only the outer piece. The trunk panels that surround the gas tank also need replacing. I mentioned earlier that a battery must have broken and acid ate away at the right front inner fender apron at battery tray area and it leaked down to the frame and front inner radiator support. I have included a picture of that area. I have so many pictures of the good things on the car but figure it's better to show you the BAD things. It's not fair to the car though. I just don't want anyone upset with this car. It's better than most of the bare naked bodies that people are getting $10,000 for! Plus all my ID tags are present with all the correct info on the car! Both doors have a rust hole in the lower front corners. The hood is the signal hood but it's dented in the front. The roof is great and fenders are ok. The trunk lid is rusted and dented and probably needs replacing? Tail light panel has a dent and can go either way. Fix or replace? The interior is 100 percent complete and the rear fiberglass panels are all nice! No speaker holes or broken panels. This is a stationary rear seat car. The fold down seat was optional. I do have a nice fold down setup except for the trap door that I would sell to the winning bidder for $800. The one I have has all new chrome o it and a new redone seat that is black outer and grey inner. If you think $800 is a high price please just look up what the chrome trim alone costs. I think you will realize that $800 for a complete setup minus the trap door is a great buy! Now back to the car. I don't know what more I can tell you. It's a complete and solid J code 68 Fastback with factory 4 speed and deluxe interior. I have a clear South Dakota title for itCar will start and drive onto a transport but has NO BRAKES at this time.Once again my feedback will show I'm an HONEST seller. I really wanted to show all the nice areas of the car that I have pictures of but like I said I'm honest and want you to see what you will need to repair.
On Oct-19-17 at 13:45:22 PDT, seller added the following information:The painted style steel wheel and plain center caps are included in this sale. The caps are MINT! 1 trim ring is correct and 3 are wrong but look good. The current condition of the car right now is the pictures with the style steel wheels on it. The picture with hubcaps and in the snow is from 10 years ago when i bought the car. The car has been inside my work shop for 10 years and over that time it did acquire some over spray from the numerous cars I painted. Just letting you know. It's not a problem on anything and the body needs redoing and the glass and trim can be easily cleaned up.
Last update. I have a battery and temporary gas can under the hood and the car does start and move now. I also got the brakes to some what work. The front brake cylinders do leak though but they will stop the car. The engines runs and has good oil pressure but that's all I can say about it. The last thing I may do is try to find a radiator to put in it but that's just a MAYBE. If I do get a radiator in it that will just be a bonus and not guaranteed as part of the auction. Ok, I really think I covered this thing very well but If I did forgot something or you need to know a particular thing that I didn't cover please feel free to contact me. Thanks for your time and good luck bidding.
On Oct-22-17 at 10:15:17 PDT, seller added the following information:I am going to be delivering a vehicle around 400 miles South of my home this week. If the buyer of this vehicle is located within a reasonable area South of the cities down Interstate 35 I could bring this car along and drop it off for an additional delivery fee.
