1915 Ford Model T Fire Chief Parade Car from Museum Collection
Brass Car - in California for 102 Years
This cool car appears to be very original. It is equipped with the 4 cylinder engine, manual transmission, 6 Volt system, electric headlights and brake light, oil burning running lights, folding windshield, wood spoke wheels, speedometer, beveled glass rear view and side mirror, brass horns, wood steering wheel, crank starter, brass bell, tool box, fire extinguisher, whistle… Yes, this car really does have everything including the bell and whistle!
The California Title and Registration documents show that this car was first registered in California in 1915 and has been in California since. There even is a small 1915 brass California Registration plate mounted on the dash. The car has what appears to be an original ceramic Los Angeles Fire Department plate with #34 on the brass tab. The car also has the California Horseless Carriage License Plate. This is a true historical car and will be a great addition to any car collection or firehouse...
This one-of-a-kind car is part of the Automotive Road of Dreams Museum collection that was located at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. The car has been in the collection for 20 years and has been in storage since the museum closed a few years ago.
The car is equipped with a working electric starter and was just upgraded to a distributor and coil system. (The original parts are still with the car.) The car also comes with a brass hand-crank siren that is unmounted and in the trunk. We do have the spare tire/wheel but the listing photos were taken while it was not mounted on the car.
The car starts, runs and drives good. It looks just like the listing pictures and it is ready to for the next parade. (See pictures that were just taken for the listing.) The body and fenders are all steel and appear to be original to the car. This 102 year old car does show some aging but for the most part it is extremely original. The convertible top does need to be recovered and one of the top bows needs to be repaired.
