1960 Ford Country Sedan, running and ready to cruise
Description
This rare 1960 Ford wagon is in a running condition, and currently registered. A fantastic and rare body design. Not many of these left.I bought it earlier this year from an auction company. The car is said to have appeared in numerous movies. It has been used very moderate for a long time. It has a fairly new paint job, but still has some painted over damage. I painted some scallops and Kyle Martin, from Napa, Ca pinstriped it.The interior was also fairly recently redone. New carpet, seats, headliner. When i bought it, it just had new brakes all around, new water pump and a new exhaustsystem installed.
The car has it's original 6 cylinder engine, hooked up to a automatic transmission. It also has power steering. The car runs ok, i've driven it over the summer and put about 500 miles on it. The transmission needs to warm up before 2nd gear activates though, and i don't know the reason or if it can be adjusted. I would recommend replacing the transmission fluid and filter, and give the car a tune up. The lights work, and most of the gauges as well as the speedometer. The glass is good all around, with the exception of the drivers doorglass being cracked.
The doors are solid and all open, shut and close fine, all windows roll up and down with ease. The chrome is decent, "user friendly" as the whole car would be described i would say. The front floor pans has been replaced at some point, with solid ones from another -60 Ford. There is traces of bondo on a few spots of the car, nothing severe. Some dings and dents can be found on the body. It is not a perfect car, but it is a very cool cruiser that also, if someone wants to, can be put back to stock height and appearance very easily. Nothing has been modified and the stock steel rims and hubcaps with good tires comes with the car. I lowered the car 4" all around, and at the same time also installed brand new Astro Supreme wheels and bias ply tires. Nothing in the chassies or on the body has been modified.
It's a fun car with a lot of attitude, and has a lot of options in the future. Mild custom, beater, PR vehicle, stock restoration etc etc...
I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, as i also have the car for sale locally.
