Selling this for a friend. I've been directly involved with this build from day one, so please feel free to ask questions. This is a 1950 Ford F1 with the 8BA flathead engine. The engine has been completely rebuilt and is mated to a late model t-5 5 speed transmission. The engine has been updated with an electronic ignition, gear reduction starter, and a one wire alternator and 12 volt electrical system.
The truck was completely disassembled and stripped. all wear items were checked and rebuilt or replaced before painting and reassembly. There are nearly 400 pictures, taken over the rebuild process. Minor rust issues were patched with metal. No aftermarket 'glass parts. The brakes were rebuilt with power front discs added. The truck received new shocks, brake lines, all wiring, and new 16 inch "high clearance" tires and wheels. Custom bed wood was installed with stainless trim. A dual exhaust was also installed with glass pack mufflers for the correct early sound.
The solid fenders, cab and bed were eurothane primed, and given a base coat/clear coat paint job in a burgundy dark red. All new glass and seals were installed, as well as an electric wiper conversion.
This truck is done and ready to go to it's new home. WHAT A GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENT !!!
This truck drives nice and easy down the road. No pulling or wandering. The brakes work as they should, steering is easy and relatively light . The 5 speed is effortless and a perfect match for the flathead. No issues. There was so much done, that it's hard to recall every thing. Everything done was intended to keep the original look, but improve the driving experience.
At some point in the past, an early Chrysler(?) type interior light was installed. It looks pretty cool, so it was converted to 12 v. and left in the forward header panel. The only issue I know o, is the fuel gauge may stick? Anew sender was installed, and the gauge was tested prior to install, but for some reason it may not be working as it should. I have to emphasize "may" because less than a tank of fuel has been run through since completion.
The truck is stored in northern Michigan, and all shipping is the buyers responsibility.
