Description

Up for Auction is recently completed 1953 Ford F100 Pick-up. A ground up Resto Mod Patina Truck. Set up as a dead-nutz reliable daily driver, with easy to tune power from an LS 5.3 Vortec engine and New 4L80e Transmission, New 9" Ford rear-end with 3:73 gears. Wanted a powertrain that I could dress in polished period style pieces and love the LS engines. Can easily tune and add power, but none needed for this package. Will lay rubber or bark and break tires loose under acceleration. The chassis is fully set-up to handle the power with fully tuned self leveling air ride (Accu Air) multilink rear and mustang style tubular front a-arm set-up. Race engineered and bump steer dialed down, massive roll bars and big brakes. The only limitation to handling is the fully re-upholstered original bench seat sitting on a lowered frame. Truck is incredible!
Vehicle came from a field in Gainesville Texas. Title is free and clear, but has Bonded notation due to lost original title and farmer let it just set in the field. Common in Texas for older vehicles. Truck was pulled into the shop, power washed and then completely disassembled. Every single nut and bolt is new. The only original parts are the frame, body panels and related components like brackets, running boards, etc. Every single item was replaced. Truck has roughly 600 shake down miles with the ODO zero'd at the build completion. Frame is fully race engineered by a shop who built SCCA cars for a living. Pet project of my life long friend. They cut, sectioned and boxed until it was right. Fully sorted and gorgeous to look at. We then opened the catalogues and went to town making it as new as possible.
Engine is a fresh rebuild LS 5.3. Completely blown apart, cleaned inspected and all new bearings, seals and gaskets. Every accessory added to engine is new. Completely painted with all new fasteners, hoses and wizardry. Mated to brand New "Built" B&M 4L80e transmission. Al new Cooling system with custom sized race aluminium radiator/trans cooler. Electric fan control by GM computer. Power is routed to custom drive shaft and ends up in a new Ford 9" rear with Disc Brake conversion and integrated handbrake. Front is 11" Wilwood vented with 4 piston calipers.
The ride is fantastic and is a blast to play with and ride around town. Can cruise on Level 1(no tight turns), but Level 2 is best. Level 3 is for speed bumps and driveways. All controlled from dash mounted integrated Air ride controller. Custom matched shocks. It all works so well and is the only way to go!
The entire interior and color scheme is spectacular. Interior was cleaned and POR 15 applied. Then sound deadening added to floors and doors. Sprayed with tinted and textured liner material throughout matching the engine compartment. All new carpeting, seat covering and trim. Have a spare floor carpet for shows, so that I can drive with the other. New modern seat belts added (Use at your own risk). Steering wheel is original, refinished and then wrapped. Custom tilt wheel column and shifter. Gauges are all new electronic items with speedo, ODO Tach and temp gauges. Looks fantastic! Found a period classic clock to finish out the dash. Has ice cold AC and warm heat. Simple "vintageair AC style" system. No stereo, but a hidden system could be easily added. Just like the sound coming from custom, 3" exhaust front to back.
Rides on MOPAR wheels with period style center caps and rings. All painted to match interior and engine bay colors. Body was fitted as best everything could, cleaned and then sealed in Linseed Oil. No maintenance. Looks incredible. Hood was smacked at one point and you can see areas of filler from years way past. All part of the character. Get more looks in this than my Ferrari 355!
All wiring is new, all hoses, fittings and connectors are new. 100's and 100's of build hours. Way to much to list. Will be glad to discuss with serious buyers. Have links to additional photo album. Have most paperwork and manuals from vendor components. Wiring diagram and some additional spares and supplies.
Truck is well sorted and reliable. Try to drive a few times a week. Not in rain, but chassis has a little road dust on it now. Exhaust has a few spots where moisture has streaked under it. No major leaks or concerns. But it is a custom hotrod, not a 100% modern Honda. I hate the PRNDL indicator and that is a weak piece. Needs a cooler option there. Getting due for an oil change after break-in and maybe all fluids if you believe in that sort of thing?? I am moving on to other dreams and projects. I am a lifelong car guy and Dallas shop owner in the collision business. I am not a long term curator, but more of a "Wilt Chamberlin" of the car world - "How Many before I die!"
Some monkey shop would charge nearly $80K to build this from what I know and if paint and body were part of that, well over $100K. Own a great build for way, way less. Needs a good home. Will call serious buyers if you PM me. Will send link to other photos as well. Thank you. -R
