1964 Ford Econline E100
Description
This gem has been in the family since 1985. It was used as a mascot carpet cleaning van for the family carpet cleaning company. While in use it was driven until overheating and then blew a head gasket sometime around 1995. It has sat in a barn since then never being repaired. This is in need of restoration on the engine and body.
The body is rough and has rust in various areas due to having water frequently from carpet cleaning system which is no longer in it. There is a dent in the front above the bumper a few in the back doors and one on the back rear quarter panel. It is missing a headlight and one of the mirrors. The interior is in fair condition. The seats are not torn but aged from the elements. the glass is straight. The dash and front cab area is all there and in good condition. The engine is in good condition but needs the head gasket fixed. The transmission is in good working order. It needs tires and might need a brake job after all these years of sitting. All doors open and close well and this was never in any accidents except for a bump into something which dented the front as seen in pictures. The undercarriage is not rusty like the body. It is in good shape and the steering/suspension/shift linkage/emergency brake/wheel and steering components are all in good shape. Just tires and brake pads and it is ready in terms of the under components. This is a good project and has real potential. The best points of this van are:Long time owner, I drove this myself for a few years and its fun with a good strong engine. All original everything. The only upgrade or non original parts added are the wheels and the paint. There is however sheet metal installed inside which line the walls and floor. This was to deflect water from carpet cleaning system. The bad points: Rust. The body is fairly straight but where there is rust, its deep. it does not penetrate the floor like you would think save it be for a few spots though I have not seen under the sheet metal since the 90's. The areas of rust which can be seen are random mostly on bottom of a few doors, spotted areas of floor and under windows. some on top edges. The seats are original as is everything else including the engine. The engine is still installed but the head has been removed at some point. The head is there with the Van.
I am digging for more pictures and will upload soon. This is sitting in a shipping container for the last 8 years out of the elements and I think that there is NOT allot of mechanical work to be done for it to be on the road. The body is another story.Clean title in hand. This is a body workers special. This is indeed a classic year and model, we hope to see it go to the enthusiast who will bring her back to life.
