Description

Selling my beautiful 1956 Ford Thunderbird Roadster. The car comes with both hard and soft top, power steering and brakes, power seat, automatic and original 312 cubic inch V-8 engine. I also have the hard top stand in perfect condition.
This car sports a beautiful restoration in Coral (EDIT: I'm told by several experts that the official name of the color is Fiesta Red) with fastidious upkeep since. It starts, runs and drives beautifully. Everything works including the clock and all instruments. It was restored to be driven and not just be a trailer queen so functionality was as important as cosmetics.
The car is a rust free and accident free car. It has all original sheet metal with excellent fit and finish. The paint is beautiful throughout. All of the chrome and trim is perfect with no pitting or any other issues at all. It was all restored to show caliber quality and it shows.
The car has two tops, the factory 'porthole' hard top and a perfect brand new Ford White Haartz vinyl convertible top. The soft top is in show condition and put up for display. The hard top was restored with the car and is beautiful.
The engine bay is spotless. Every detail down to the battery is correct to original. The interior is also spectacular with beautiful materials, perfect carpeting and spotless instrumentation. The only change from original was a carefully constructed dual cup holder which fits perfectly in to the ash tray slot when the tray is removed. You can see in some of the images.
The trunk is also detailed and spotless.
There is no rust on this car, the undercarriage is equally as well done as the rest of the car. The frame, floors and suspension are all excellent.
The car starts very quickly, I leave it on a trickle. One thing I've found is the repro original style batteries do not hold up as well as a modern Interstate or other aftermarket battery. If I don't trickle it, it goes down. The car charges it fine when driving.
I've had three things done to the car recently: The spare tire surround was repainted. It has some minor chips in the paint. The drivers side door fit near the bottom was off (you can see in the outdoor photos). I've had that adjusted and there was a very small hairline crack in the paint at the top of the drivers door. That has been carefully retouched.
I have the car at a great restoration shop in Bridgeport, CT and it is open for inspections at any time throughout this auction.
I invite questions either through the 'contact seller' link or by phone at 860-883-3998. You will not be disappointed in this car. I have tons of pictures, send me your email and I can send at high resolution.
Thanks and happy bidding.
