Description

This 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster checks all the most important boxes for a car of its type. Lightweight body and strong motor for great performance ..? Check! Exterior decked out for maximum visual impact while still very tasteful ..? Check! Well-appointed and comfortable interior to make driving a pleasure ..? Check! Of course, having logged only about 1800 miles since its build doesn't hurt either.
There are a lot great features that set this '32 apart from the pack. Of course, its Velocity Yellow paint job, applied to a well-crafted and lightweight Downs 2" stretch fiberglass body, will be among the first things you'll notice. Sporting a great clearcoat on top, it's got a nice deep shine and an evenness that only comes with thorough prep work to start. The chrome on those King Bee headlights and chopped windshield is in great shape and really compliments that vibrant shade well. Even among Highboys, whose very configuration calls for a prominent front grille, this one - clad in stainless steel and sitting in front of a Hagan hood - really stands out. Take a look from the side and you'll see the rear end has been bobbed just enough to create a more muscular appearance, while not taking so much off the back as to mess with the flowing lines these cars are known for.
An unusually nice, opulent two-tone interior sits inside, featuring medium gray with charcoal gray accents on the door panels and seats. The detail work and embroidery is really impressive, and some really nice additional touches have been added, such as the embroidery on the seat backs and an extra storage compartment recessed into the space between driver and passenger. Just in front of the impressive-looking billet steering wheel that's mounted on a Flaming River tilt column, an assortment of white-faced VDO gauges sits recessed into the yellow dash area, while just below, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD system with Bluetooth capability gives you all the audio options you'll need. There are a few additional custom surprises thrown in as well, including a set of hidden switches for ignition, lights and several other functions, as well as an additional control switch to not only open the trunk, but to close it as well. The storage area in back is nicely detailed with a pattern and carpeting matching the interior, and a fire extinguisher securely fastened in place as a precautionary measure.
A strong 355 cubic inch SBC crate engine sits on display inside the TRC chassis. With an Edelbrock carb and a set of aluminum heads, it churns out 365 horsepower and 410 lb./ft. of torque - more than enough to push you right back into that well upholstered seat when you step into the throttle. A generously sized aluminum radiator sits up front, armed with an electric fan to keep temperatures in check. While roadsters normally excel in straight line exploits, this one's well suited for good performance and handling in a variety of conditions. The Pete and Jakes front end features a 4" drop to not only provide a great look, but a lower center of gravity with the triangulated 4-bar suspension in back. The 5 speed manual transmission, Ford 9" rear end and 4 wheel disc brakes combine for a fun - and secure - ride on winding roads. This well-appointed roadster sits on a set of Foose Legend Wheels - including a pair of massive 20" 295s in back - wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force radials.
