This truck is so awesome, but the fact is that I think it would be better in somebody else’s driveway.
It was fully restored in the 1980’s by Pepsi cola, from what the previous owner told me, and was used in parades by the Red Caps. I believe it, but that was 30 years ago. When they rebuilt it, they put hydraulic brakes on it, and replaced the motor and transmission with a Pinto motor and automatic trans. It could use a tune up and new fuel filter.
I got brand new tie rod ends and a replacement steering (all new, using F1 Ford gears) box for it, as it shimmied really bad. I have yet to finish the installation. Yes, it’s a bit of a project, and will need to be towed, but there’s not really that much to do, to be honest. A couple of weekend days, probably, and you’ll be able to get her out there on the road.
The flatbed is 2x6 boards with red carpet. There is some water damage in the back interior panel from the rear window. It needs a new windshield visor.
Open to trade offers, and I am willing to sell just the cab for $6,000, so if you want to build a hot rod you’ve got a great starting point there. Read Less
