1977 Ford F-250 3/4 ton 460ci ‘Camper Special’ Supercab/Extended Cab truck

On offer is my 1977 Ford F-250 truck. Long bed, extended cab. 460ci. AC. Loads of patina. Loads of cool. Loads of bills for mechanical and cosmetic work. But still loads of cool.

I bought the truck from Arizona and its dry climate. It’s showing mileage of 65,667, but I believe that to be 165k, and although the truck is steeped full of patina, it is in remarkably good overall condition. It had been sitting for a while and needed a mechanical overhaul of spark and fuel systems, including:

New gas tank to rear

Flushed gas tank at front

New fuel pump

Flushed fuel lines

Rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor

New batteries

New starter motor

New starter solenoid

Many sundry parts, most of which I’ve now forgotten.

The truck passed a California emissions test with the greatest of ease.

It needed a little attention to the suspension, and so new bearings, bushings and shocks were installed.

The truck runs great. The 460ci V8 starts easily, idles well and has enough power to pull down a building. The transmission is smooth and shifts perfectly. Brakes are great for a 40-year-old truck, the suspension is fantastic – it handles really well and has surprised a few at how nimble it is – and all the electrical systems work perfectly, including nice and cold AC and the roof lights!

Once running as it should, I addressed the interior. I had a nice high-quality carpet kit installed with a new dash cover, which I then covered again with the carpet style cover. A new Alpine CD/Radio with Bluetooth and iPod/Aux/USB input was also installed and mated to the upgraded door speakers, tweeters on the dash and the amplifier behind the rear seat with subwoofer under it. I also had new window rubbers installed to reduce the noise. New headlights and LED taillights were also installed.

There are some rust spots around the truck though nothing too bad. The underside and floors are in great condition with nothing but a little surface rust. The paint is peeling in a few places and there are scuffs and a few dings around the truck, but no evidence of accident repair.

The truck was recently serviced and all tires are good. There is a spare that comes with the truck. The truck comes with a clean, clear California title. It does not come with the license plates.
