Description

"Tequila Mockingbird" as featured in Ol' Skool Rodz. This car has been my daily driver for about a decade. It starts, runs and brakes beautifully. It is running the original 390 big block (300 horse) motor with the original Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed transmission and the original 9" rear end. It has a brand new Edelbrock 600cfm Carburetor as well as a brand new aluminum tri-core radiator and new water pump. I completely flushed the motor when swapping out the water pump. It features dual straight pipe exhaust all the way to the back of the car but also has cut out side pipes if You want to make it a little noisy and let her breath better. The car is free of rust and has been kept under cover and driven daily. She's also sporting a vintage set of Keystone Classics and radial, pinner white walls. The interior was in the car when I bought it. Someone had installed a velour interior which I have done my best to preserve, It looks good. New carpets are a few years old but look great. Headliner looks fantastic as well. Oh yeah, speaking of interior, I am not a smoker so no funky odors. Same applies to the paint, it looks really pretty and gets you lots of thumbs up on the road but isn't going to win you any trophy's. Doors, trunk and hood have been shaved. Door poppers open her up as well as the trunk. There is a Rockford Fosgate amplifier and 4 speakers. As long as you have a cell phone with a headphone jack, you have tunes. The electric windows are in good working order. The electric seat (drivers side) has an issue. The motor is fine but the controller has broken off (the joystick, knob, doohickey) and therefore the seat doesn't move. I haven't fixed cause it's set to my position. The A/C also needs a new belt tensioner and belt, and possibly a charge at this point. However, all the A/C components are in working order. These cars notoriously rust out in the trunk and this one was no exception. However, I redid all the metal work on this car including the trunk when I bought it ten years ago. p.s. I spent 3 week in that trunk! Suspension is all original, the car glides down the road comfortably. The power steering is effortless. the power brakes too. Really, the car is fantastic. It'd be great for any student or weekend cruiser or die hard rodder as a daily. Also, I don't drive her hard at all, I treat her like the luxury car she was built to be and that has made her nearly maintenance free. I hope you will do the same. Okay, please feel free to come look and we'll take it for a spin if you're local or send an inspector if you're not. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. You'll find my phone number in the pics on the decal in the window, feel free to call but please leave a message if I don't answer, I work wacky hours.
If you email me at "terry at terrybyer dot com" I'll send you a video tour of tequila mockingbird. Or, find my youtubechannel under the same email address and take a lookimmediately.
Oh yeah, I just looked over the car and remembered a few things. 2 brand new tires up front. The speedo has not worked since I bought the car and the oil pressure gauge has recently stopped working. A good set of modern gauges would probably be a good idea.
