1951 F100 FORD PICKUP
Description
This is a 1951 Ford F100 1/2 ton pickup. It has a flathead V8 that runs very good, and a 3 speed transmission with a column shift.
The truck has a few rust areas in places that normally rust out.
This truck does have a good history that would interest anyone from the Air Force background. This truck was purchased by the Air Force in 1951 and delivered to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. From there it was used by the Air Force at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas for the Air Force inspectors to drive back and forth to check on planes being built at Boeing Aircraft for the Air Force.
The pickup was Air Force blue, then it was turned over to the Wildlife Department and painted light green.
All the tags are still on the door post from the Air Force and from Boeing Aircraft Division. It has a special VIN plate on the outside of the glove box for the Air Force from the factory. It also has, on the inside of the glove box, the VIN plate that comes from the Ford Motor Factory.
There are a lot of people that are taking old WWII aircraft and restoring them. This pickup would be an ideal project to go along with that because of all the tags that show it actually was purchased from the Air Force.
There is a clear title for this vehicle.
