I am selling this 31 for a close friend that is getting older and has decided to do some downsizing. It went through a body off, amateur restoration about 10 years ago and has not been driven hardly at all during that time. We pulled it out of storage, installed a new battery, fixed a few issues, and have spent some time driving the vehicle around the neighborhood to diagnose the overall condition. The paint is still holding up very nicely, with just a few scratches, chips, and imperfections; same with the vinyl on the roof. It looks like all the drive train was gone thru, all the cab wood replaced, electrical replaced, new bed wood, new tires, exhaust, etc.It really seems to be a nice truck, considering its age. There is no rust, and all the body parts are original Ford steel, with the exception of the rear fenders (aftermarket fiberglass). Motor runs tight and cool, transmission shifts great, lights all work, breaks work good. I did, however run into a couple of issues that will need to be addressed before you take this one out on the road. Sometimes after coming out of a turn, the front end will start wobbling pretty bad and you have to slow way down to get it to correct itself. I have been under the truck and inspected all the tie rods, suspension, steering linkages, ect.. and couldn’t find anything broken or excessively worn with the exception of the steering box. I believe that someone with a working knowledge of these old trucks would have no problem figuring it out. The other issue has something to do with the emergency brake. Sometimes it would shake itself into engaging under certain conditions. Again, something that is probably an easy fix, just outside of my capability. Lastly, there is a small pin hole on the top, outside of the tank that has been covered with a green tinted epoxy. We are including a freshly painted, OEM Ford steel tank with the Auction.
