Description

This auction is for a 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible. This car has had extensive sheet-metal work, and is RUST FREE. The floors are solid, the trunk floor is solid, the frame has the usual surface scaling. The front toe-board, under the firewall looks rusted but it IS NOT (See Pics). There is some type of undercoating on it, and when I chipped some of it off, there is solid metal underneath. The fenders and quarters are beautiful on this car, with just a slight amount of bodywork and a small skim coat they would be flawless. If your looking for a SOLID foundation to build your restoration or hot rod/street rod off of, this is it. This car was under restoration by my father, and was inside his climate controlled shop. His unexpected and sudden death has brought this car for sale. There is no drive train, however there is a load of parts that come with the car. I have the body trim pieces, the radio, bumpers, brackets, brake pieces, two power top motors (very hard to find) the pedal swing assembly, wing window assemblies (incredibly hard to find complete) front windshield frames, bell-housing, NOS spare-tire wheel with a tire mounted, mis. brackets, sheet-metal pieces etc. I am still looking for a set of seat frames and I will include those in the sale if they are found (but I have not found them yet). I did find that one of the bows for the convertible top is broken, however is repairable. It was wired together to prevent any further damage, or the possibility of the bow being bent. If you need more photos, I can take them. The car is stored in a climate controlled shop.
I DO NOT have a title for this car. My father purchased this car in horrible shape many years ago with no title, but he always had a way to get titles so a car with no title was no concern to him. The VIN is stamped on the left front frame rail, It is hard to read, and I did not want to do anything to it such as sanding or wire brushing it to possibly screw it up and make it completely non-readable. The VIN does start in 18, indicating a 1941 V8 car.
I will include a notarized bill of sale to the high bidder for ease in obtaining a title in your state.
I wish I knew more about this car and the history of it but unfortunately I don't. What you see is what you get, and there is no warranty either expressed or implied. $500.00 non-refundable deposit required through Pay-Pal within 24 hours of auction end. I DO NOT accept paypal to complete the balance of the transaction. The balance must be paid by Cash (in person), bank wire, or certified bank check. If paying by Bank Check the check must clear and present funds prior to car leaving my shop. I can help arrange shipping and I work with several transporters from open trailer style to enclosed big-rig styles. Its your choice, but winning bidder is responsible for shipping payment. NO RESERVE. I reserve the right to end the listing should the car sell locally. Thanks.
UPDATE: I have had a few questions about the "paint" on the car. It is not paint. The car was media-blasted to bare metal years ago and a sealer was put on it to keep it from flash rusting. The black is that sealer, and the sealer has worn thin in a few places over the years from being moved around and worked on.
I also found a small spot of some pin-hole rust on the passenger side trim channel that is right below the convertible top area. The drivers side and rear portion of the channel are perfect, but there is a few spots on the passenger side that were not yet repaired. They are very small and very hard to see.
