This is the third Model T I have owned and it is time for me to part with this little piece of American History. Here is my known history on this particular car:
I purchased this 1911 Touring car about 3 years ago from an older gentleman in Illinois. He had purchased it locally from an estate auction. When I got the car it ran and drove as it should. The motor and trans are 1923. So it has an electric starter, as well as a crank start. This car was partially rebuilt before I purchased it. Including new tires, new steel seat buckets, and wood frame. Also, the upholstery was new. However please note the upholstery looks better in pictures than in person. It is a vinyl kit and the installation was not done by a professional upholstery shop. I believe the man that sold me the car installed it himself. Now for a list of what I have done to this car in the last 3 years to bring it to its current condition.
-Replaced transmission bands, hoses, and fan belt
-Installed all new wiring and new generator
-Installed new starter, battery, and all cables, including starter switch
-Installed new ignition switch, coils, coil box, spark plugs, wires, and commutator
-Installed proper period lights, horn, windshield, steering wheel, and other misc. brass trim pieces
-Installed new steel fenders, splash guards, hood, wood hood sills, and wood firewall
-Rebuilt rear end and replaced emergency brake pads
-Replaced muffler, exhaust pipe, exhaust manifold, and carburetor
-Fixed all oil leaks and grease cups on powertrain
-Installed 6-volt bulbs in all lights, and provided high and low beam switches for headlights
-The floor boards are plywood and I have covered them with removable carpet mats
-I painted all new metal fenders, hood, ect. to match the existing red and black paint
This car is not a perfect museum piece. However it is a very nicely restored 1911 Touring car and will get a lot of attention where ever it goes. I do have some unrestored topirons that I purchased with this car and misc. other Model T parts that I will include with the sale if the buyer wishes. Also please note that the scuff sill plates at doorways are missing. A detail I just never got around to. I have included one photo of this car in the partialy completed condition it was in when I purchased it. I also have a short video of the car being started and driven upon request of any potential buyer. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
