1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible for Sale
1966 Ford Thunderbird Retractable Convertible Immaculate, Restored 2-Owner Car ......please be patient while the many photos load.....
Very attractive forth generation 1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible beautifully refinished in factory Ford Emberglow Metallic with a Parchment/Palomino interior. Nicely equipped with power retractable convertible top, swing-away steering wheel, driver's chrome remote side view exterior mirror, day/night rearview mirror, power door locks, factory gauge cluster with a 120 MPH scrolling speedometer, factory back up lights and working factory sequential rear turn signal indicators. Only 5,049 convertibles produced making this last year of the classic Thunderbird Convertible a rare bird. A few years and a few hundred miles ago it's original owner recommissioned T-Birds West of Corvallis Oregon to perform a comprehensive engine-out mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The car is in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, it's original owner passed away nearing its completion. The second owner continued to restore rendering this special Thunderbird in the lovely, excellent condition it is now.
The car starts; runs and drives beautifully. The rebuilt factory 390 4V 315hp with 10:1 Compression Ratio engine purrs quietly with plenty of power and acceleration. The Cruise-O-Matic shifting is spot-on, and the 3.00 rear-end provides the car with easy freeway-speed driving. Most ancillary items have been replaced or rebuilt including cooling and charging systems, hoses, belts, power steering, power brakes with discs up-front, etc. The car is reliable and easy to drive. The suspension is tight and smooth with new ball joints and the steering and braking function as-new. The tires were replaced with new Coker whitewall steel-belted radials. It truly is great to drive.
Repainted in factory Ford Emberglow Metallic, the paint is of factory quality with all of the jambs, under the trunk lid and entire engine compartment properly painted with the engine-out. The body and floors are totally rust-free. The chrome and trim look fantastic as well. And the top is brand new. The retractable hide-away convertible top system has been completely rebuilt at a cost of $6,000. Relays, solenoids, motor, pump all in beautiful functioning condition with no issues. The interior is Parchment with Palomino; looks very nice and is very comfortable. The swing-away steering wheel and neutral safety switch have also been restored to work as intended when new. The dash has no cracking and is in superb condition. An aftermarket vintage-style radio has been added with an auxiliary option. The heater and defroster units work well though the motor is a little noisy.
This is an excellent Thunderbird Convertible that has had a small fortune spent on it and is sure to provide years of fun for its next new owner. Call Left Coast Classics owner, Donn Dabney at 844-533-8262 with questions or to schedule a viewing.

I have driven classic cars continuously for over 30 years and am happy to share the joys as well as the realities involved in owning these special old cars.
