A few other notes: 120,563 actual miles on odometer; car runs well/strong. I think I have the build sheet for the car, but it is pretty faded. Gray seats have a few minor stains which are visible in the picture, also fog lights are not working, nor is the interior map light. Tires have lots of tread left; wheels are in good shape for their age but if I was keeping car I would probably get them redone/powdercoated.
Note that autocheck shows a minor title issue - of "Odometer problem check" - I have no idea what that means. I bought the car off the lot at Century Ford in Rockville MD and have maintenance records that will demonstrate the odometer is accurate. The care was registered in Iowa for 15 years before I brought it back to Maryland in 2011. I believe this flag is a result of triggering an "exceeds mechanical limits" condition in the report which is likely a result of the low mileage. This was my daily driver for about 9 years after I bought it, and has been mostly garaged since with only 12,000 miles since 1995.
A FEW MORE ITEMS REGARDING THE CAR:
1) Foglights are physically present but do not illuminate, could be bulbs or wiring2) I probably should have been more careful in the original description - when I said the vehicle was "all original" what I meant to say was stock original, as in no mods to engine, drivetrain, suspension, body, etc.... About 15 years ago I had the hood repainted and a new decal was applied; I also had the hatchback removed and cleaned up a little rust around the hinges. I had a few minor scratches on the exterior doors cleaned up and painted at the same time. So there has been a paint gun on this car.3) The crimp welds on the bottom of both doors have rust - although the car has been garaged I do live on the east coast and not in the desert so this is not too surprising. I will post pics of these tomorrow. If I was keeping the car I would have someone pull the doors and address this.4) The driver door does not line up perfectly with the body at the back near the handle - I believe this is because of a worn hinge pin but I have had difficulty finding someone locally to fix this. I will post a picture of this too5) The dashpad is original OEM but is covered by an aftermarket plastic pad. IT IS NOT GLUED ON and will just lift off, I never take it off because if you know these cars you know how fragile the dashpads are and how hard they are to find NOS/OEM without cracks. I put the aftermarket pad on to protect the OEM dashpad6) The T-tops do not leak. If you know these cars you also know that this was a big issue as the t-tops were typically installed after the factory by a 3rd party and were notorious for leaking. I have keys for the t-top locks7) There are a couple of small scratches in the paint on the front bumper - I will post pictures8) Car has been run on synthetic oil almost since it was new9) No observed fluid leaks
I have complete maintenance records so email if you have questions. Also if anyone wants to cancel their bids in light of the paint or rust issues mentioned feel free. The bottom line is you aren't likely to find an 86 GT with 120K miles that looks better than this - every time I drive it people stop me to ask questions and try to buy it.
