1962 Ford F-Series Cab & Chassis-4,783 Original Miles-BIG Rat Rod-Resto-OR ????
Description
Never thought I'd sell this BUT...Like they say "Tell God Your plans & give Him a Good laugh".......I've had this Ole Truck a long time. (had it shipped back from the West Coast years ago) (as a complete operating "Pumper" I had planned to take it to Hodges & have a ramp bed put on it to haul my 64 Merc. Marauder Drag car. Well, life got in the way & I settled for taking it to Cruise nights from time to time all the while with my plans still there. Time to let it go. Medical bills don't wait. It has a 292 "Heavy Duty" V-8 with a 5 speed transmission. Paint is worn out & has a lot of patina but will still buff up pretty well. The interior looks darn good cleaned up, but I took the headliner out because it was sagging. It's geared really low & 50-55 is about all the harder I was willing to run it. When I got it, it had been vandalized in the shipping yard & the windshield & driver's side window were broken. I have FORD replacements for both to go with the truck. Last summer while I was taking it to cruises it quit running. Turns out it must be the fusible link in the harness. I bypassed it & put the ignition on a toggle switch through a resistor to the points & put an aftermarket electric fuel pump on it. It still has the old Stewart Warner pump under it but I had to bypass it & the mechanical pump. It fires with the key if the switches are on & shuts down with the switches & the key off.Brakes are good & all lights work. (Brake lights are on a toggle switch on the shifter). If you have any questions call me 724-964-8489& I'll answer them best I can. I changed the carb but do have the original. On hot days I've had it vapor lock a couple of times in traffic. (probably because of where I put the electric pump in a hurry). I do have the originalfront bumper also.I had it insured & plated until last fall & haven't driven it since. This would look AWESOME with a nice bed & a "Thunderbolt", "Cyclone" or "Cobra" on the back. It just doesn't get any more"ERA" correct than that PERIOD....LOL Tires DO show dryrot. It has safety rims NOT Split Rims. It sure got tons of attention everywhere I took it. THANKS FOR LOOKING.......$500.00 deposit with balance paid in cash, check (cleared of course ) or money orderto be paid in full within 7 days of purchase. It can sit here safe & sound for up to 30 days.Has clear Ohio title in my name. BUYER MUST make ALL shipping arrangements & PAYMENT. Open church lot across from our house with lots of room for a transporter.
