Description

From the first glance, you already know you're looking at a fully custom-built 1967 Ford Mustang GTA. But to really understand how superior this one is, start with the details. The perfect paint for the sunlight, custom body panels, performance-built GTA V8, and every detail scrutinized, right down to the A/C interior... yes, this is everything you want in the coolest restomod coupe around.
It's ok to say "WOW!", because everyone else is too. This is the product of taking a solid California car and then giving it a $60k restoration. It started life as a rare W-code Clearwater Aqua GTA coupe. So when they took it down to bare metal, we love that they kept the tradition of blue by applying a custom application hue and Ford's Aqua blue for racing stripes. And this kind of investment means once you get this coupe out in the sunlight, it will radiate color to outshine just about any other classic around it. But don't get too focused on the paint, or you might miss some fantastic details. For example, the headlight are classic tri-bars with blue dot centers, and the bumpers have been polished so they can rival the clearcoat for shine. Plus, this coupe has been completely streamlined. The billet grille, clean C-channel, and shaved door handles all come together to give this a very sleek and modern look. And those Halibrand-style wheels have appeal to everyone who love the original Shelbys to the modern Eleanor Mustangs.
Pop the remote door openers on the key fob and the sea of blue continues. The aqua stripes on the exterior are a great transition to the two-tone aqua interior. While this is the factory-correct color package, you can instantly see there has been a lot of care and investment to get it back to this pristine level. The dual colors make for a uniform appearance on the door panels, dash, and seats. And since this is a premium interior, you not only have the insignia seats, but also the desirable factory center console. But as you look over everything, you soon see this is far more than just a premium stock presentation. For example, the radio has been replaced with an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo with iPod connections and a killer 1700-watt subwoofer sound system. And the wood-rimmed Cobra steering wheel with a full AutoMeter gauge package is a major driver's upgrade. Still, some of your favorite upgrades you will never see, but you will hear and feel. That's because the interior was lined with Dynamat insulation during restoration, and the whole car is stays cool with R134a air conditioning.
This real-deal GTA does carry the proper 390 V8, but from the moment you see it, you know there is so much more going on than stock. The consignor states this is the original motor, and over $16k was invested in 2017 on this big V8. It was completely rebuilt, bored .20 over, given a forged Cobra 429 crank, so the full displacement now makes it a 409ci beast. The stout build includes Arias 10.5:1 pistons, ported & polished intake, Blue Thunder roller rockers, Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and Hooker long tube headers. There's a ton more that went into the motor, but we don't have the room to list it all here. So please call for all the details. For now, just know that this produces 450 horsepower, and it was built strong enough to accept a 175 shot of nitrous (not installed, just built to those hardy specs.) And as you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see more great upgrades like new bushings, Shelby-style traction bras, welded frame connectors, and thick sway bars front & rear. It's a terrific handling package that now also includes larger Granada front disc brakes, modern Falken tires, and a Flaming River power steering setup. The final piece to this total package is the modern Ford AOD four-speed transmission (after all, the automatic is the "A" in GTA.) It's built by Lentech with a 2,500 RPM stall converter. This gives you the perfect balance between power driving and overdrive cruising.
You can call us for the full detail breakdown (there's a ton more invested in this coupe.) But you already know this is the kind of classic build that only comes around once in a lifetime. So don't miss out, call today!
