1970 Ford Van Club Wagon Chateau
71,000 original miles. Green interior and exterior. Manual 'Three-on-the-Tree' transmission. Mag 500 rims. Original spare tire. Short wheel base.
the bad:
Van has rust in wheel wells and lower body.
Small dent in passenger rear.
Seats are in good shape but need restitching in a few spots.
Passenger seat already been repaired a while back.
Sometimes gets vapor locked. Probably fuel line getting hot on hot days.
Tires have a season left in them.
Carpet in back starting to show age.
the good:
71k original miles
Mag 500 rims look great.
Has dual glass pack exhaust that sounds great.
Interior only has a few flaws, otherwise very respectable.
Headliner in great shape.
All doors open and close with ease.
No cracked windows.
All doors lock with key.
Just did a 150 mile trip this past year without a problem. Ran great.
Heat works great. A/c, I never turned it on.
This van has a special collar hooked to drive shaft. The original owners towed this van with their RV. They had this option installed to 'disconnect' the drive shaft with a pull leaver.
This van starts and runs like a champ. Gets lots of smiles when going down the road. Great for spring and summer trips. I loved this van. My former wife and I had lots of great times in it. I am moving and can't take all my vehicles.
Grab this van while you can. Not many out there left. Be unique. Van culture is in!
