1977 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT Trailer Special Auto AC Truck
Description
Nice unmolested F-250 XLT Trailer Special I've owned since 1994 I bought this truck from a guy that just drove it here from Nevada where he bought it new and that's where it spent half of it's life. The pictures show how solid the body i, even the cab mounts are solid which as you know is a weak point on old Ford trucks of this vintage. The only real rust besides normal surface rust is the rear of the bed left side around the wheel (common) and on the right side a poor bondo job on what must have been a fender bender on that corner at a time before I owned the truck. I believe the engine to be a 400 cubic inch big block, all stock except for a Holley 4 barrel carburetor. The transmission is a C6 which has never given any trouble. Now the engine still runs but when it gets hot the oil pressure gets really low on the gauge so 5 years ago I stopped driving it,I have another good truck so I just stopped using this one.The point is you can't fly in and drive this truck home, the engine should be rebuilt. You will have to have it towed on a trailer. I have 3 brand new tires mounted on correct rims that go with the truck. The windsheild was less then a year old when I decided to park the truck, but it has developed a 3 inch crack on one corner drivers side, the rest of the trucks glass is fine. This truck is the Trailer Special, has all the extra heavy duty stuff standard,It also has two fuel tanks and they both work.
I've keep'ed a ledger of oil changes and work done on this truck since 1996,here's some of the bigger stuff---new windshield 5 years ago,new heater core and radiator 20.000 miles ago. transmission fluid and filter changed 10.000 miles ago. front master cylinder replaced, rear wheel cylinders replaced, rear drums turne, new brake shoes, wheel seals and differential gear oil replaced 10.000 ago.New front brake calipers, new front brake hoses, new front brake shoes 5000 miles ago.
