Description

Here for your consideration is a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. It is equipped with the potent "Z" code 390 engine and Cruise-o-matic automatic transmission. This car also has power steering. This Galaxie cranks, runs, drives, and steers wonderfully. It is a pleasure to drive. When I got the car, it had been sitting a couple of years. I put on a set of Michelin radials with great tread, recored the radiator ($475), installed a very expensive set of Holman Moody valve covers and air cleaner, and installed a new headliner. It is currently running with a Holley 600 cfm carb. I have all of the original parts: air cleaner, valve covers, 4100 carb, steel wheels, hubcaps, and fender skirts, which are included with the car. This car is in magnificent unrestored condition. The carpet is original and is in excellent condition with minor fading. The mats that have protected the carpet are original Ford accessory mats. All the gauges function properly. There are no rust issues to be repaired on this car. the paint is original aside from the hood, fender tops, and lower quarters. I really like the patina of the thin original Wimbleton white paint. The hood, doors, and trunk line up and close great. This Galaxie gets nothing positive attention when it is out. The American torque thrust wheels are true and give a fantastic ride with the Michelin radials, and the brakes are easy to operate and stops the car true. The power steering is effortless to use and is not sloppy at all. This is a great car to drive as is or bring to the next level of your choosing. There is very light blow by once hot, but no smoke from the exhaust. The exhaust system has new gaskets at the manifold to head connection. The rear bumper is replated and rustfree, which is a rare find for a '64 Galaxie. The odometer is showing 20120 which I am show is 120120. there may be a few more miles put on because I do drive this car on occasion. I am selling this car as is with no warranty. If the winning bidder personally comes to get this car, and is dissatisfied with it, there is no obligation to take the car. However, if the winning bidder sends someone for the car without personally inspecting the car, there is no returning the car for any reason. I require full payment within ten days of auction's end. The car will not leave before funds are cleared. I welcome anyone, during the auction, to come look at and drive this car. I have spent a lot of time and money to insure that this Galaxie runs, drives and functions as a reliable vintage car. This is a "NO RESERVE" auction. Good luck and thanks for looking at this "survivor" Galaxie 500.
