Description

Offered For Sale by The California Automobile Museum 1956 Ford Thunderbird We Offer Financing If you’ve seen American Graffiti, you’ll remember the elusive blonde (Suzanne Somers) driving the white 1956 Thunderbird. Curt (a young Richard Dreyfuss) exclaims she’s “the most perfect dazzling creature I’ve ever seen!” If you’d like to play the part on cruise night, this is the car for you! Filming took place in Petaluma about growing up in Modesto, and right between the two is Sacramento where this car is located.... This is not the car used in the movie, but it’s nearly identical. This car has wide whites where the car in the movie had skinny whitewalls. From the repainted Colonial White body to the red and white interior, it would fit right in at any cruise night next to the other American Graffiti cars. Exterior: Beautifully repainted the original Colonial White, this car was restored with high quality paint work. The paint does show checking up close from age. Chrome and glass are fine condition. Continental kit, standard in 1956 is in very good condition. Porthole hardtop and convertible soft top are in excellent condition. Interior: Reupholstered in factory red and white vinyl, interior is in very good condition. There are no tears in the upholstery, only minor wear elsewhere. Radio and gas gauge do not work. Motor and Driveline: Motor and automatic transmission run strong. Original teapot carburetor has been upgraded with a Holley carb. Original carb and manifold are included with car. New power brake booster. Classy, upscale and sporty, the 1956 Thunderbird has it all. Now take a cruise down memory lane and make our day!
