Description

Up for auction is a 1989 Ford Mustang GT convertible with 105k miles. I am the third owner, and havespent a lot of time on this car. I had every intention of keeping it, but a job issue forces me to look atmy financial situation. The car was delivered to Tulsa, OK when brand new, and has spent its entire life here. It is in excellent overall condition, and needs very little to be a show car, daily driver, whatever. Therehave never been any accidents that I know of, and the Carfax is clean, although they don't usually showa lot on older cars. This one is a true 25th anniversary car, with the plate on the dash. The car runs anddrives great, and has cold air conditioning. The a/c has been converted to R134A with a retrofit kit andnot a new compressor. My mechanic saw some grime up front that would be consistent with evacuatingthe system before refilling with new refrigerant.
All lights and power work, and you can drive this one across country if you would like. The interior is innear perfect condition, and the body is in excellent condition. There is a small scratch on the passengerdoor, and a 2" scratch on the driver door. I have only found one small ding on the door. I have been toldthat it appears the silver has had a repaint, but if it has, I have found no evidence of tape, poor work, etc.The person who told me the silver was repainted could not find any real proof either. I am told the car hasbeen used in parades, and kept in the garage its entire life. I have always kept it in the garage, and onlytake it out once in awhile. I have started replacing parts with OEM Ford parts only, and taking engine baypieces apart to clean and put back together. I have a NOS red driver tail light and aftermarket black trimpieces below the glass, and are included in the auction. I will list what is also included, and what the vehicleneeds below.
First, what everyone wants to know, what does the car need, or what are the issues?
1. There is a small tear in the top, towards the driver rear. It does not leak, and it would be easily repairedwith an inside patch, if someone didn't want to replace the top. After all, it is the original top.2. There are 2 small oil leaks-one in the passenger valve cover gasket, and one in the oil level switchmounted just beside the drain plug. They do not cause any issues, but do leave a small amount of oil on thegarage floor.3. There is a very small chip on the driver outer signal light. All headlights appear to be original and OEM,so I haven't tried to source another.4. The dash buzzer for the seatbelt is barely audible. It needs to be taken apart and a rubber washer put inside. That's if you even want to listen to it buzz. :)
What the auction includes:
1. Vehicle, of course.2. Original temporary tag, original window sticker, original "protect-o-plate" for lack of a better term(small metal vin tag in glovebox), brand new NOS owners manual and one used one, original lockinglugnuts and original packaging, original convertible boot and boot storage bag, an OEM air filter, anda host of other little things.3. Spare tire is brand new and never used, and the locking lugnut socket is mounted to the wrench just like it should be.
The spark plugs, plug wires, and upper/lower radiator hoses have been replaced at some point. And themufflers are Flomasters with the converters removed. Other than that, I believe every single piece on thiscar to be original. The top is white and original, and is verified with the window sticker, as far as original color. I have gone throughthe car and if it was missing the small black cover over the seat bolt, or the arm rest screw covers, I replacedthem with OEM parts. One would be hard pressed to find another original car like this one. And some ofthe others for sale have much lower mileage, but do they have everything that came with the car, still keptwith it? And can you get them cheap?
I'm sure I missed some things, and will post updates as I go. Feel free to message me with questions, and you are welcome to come see and drive the car anytime. Everything that I know of has been disclosed, and I have feedback to back it up. The title is clear and in my name. I do not offer shipping, but if you handle the arrangements, and all I have to do is bring the car to the designated truck, you can have it shipped.
