Vehicle Overview Exotic Motors Midwest is pleased to offer this 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR! Finished in Bronze Metallic over a saddle interior, it is a stunning car! Showing only 50,457 miles, it is in fantastic condition! It is fully numbers matching, and is has never been restored. No rust whatsoever. This car left the Ford factory wearing Lime Green Metallic; It did receive a color-change respray in 1969 to Bronze Metallic with white LeMansstripes by the selling dealer. In 1972, it was changed back to Lime Green Metallic. In 1995 it was repainted back to the current Bronze Metallic. Prior to this final repaint, all old paint was removed, and a two-step base, and clear coat was accomplished. At the time, $8,000 was spent to bring it to its current state. This car is fully documented, and comes with an 8 INCH THICK binder of history, photos, and service records! The original selling dealer was Larry Lange Ford in Cedar Falls, IA. And was ordered by the first owner to be used as a weekend drag car. It has a documented race history from 1968 to 1970.
All quarter panels are original, and all other fiberglass is original. There are no signs of any previous accident damage, and there is absolutely no rust! This car has spent almost its entire life in the southwest. Absolutely everything works on this Shelby! It has the C6 high-performance automatic transmission, the saddle interior is in fantastic, all original condition. All of the center console features work; oil, amperage gauges, even the clock! The original engine and transmission were rebuilt in 1999, and it runs and drives perfectly! The engine still features the original Holley 735 CFMCarburetor. Out back there is a 3.50:1 Detroit Locker limited slip rear end. The original AM/FM stereo is present. The all-original glass is still in excellent condition, the "Tilt-A-Way" steering wheel still functions exactly as it should. It features fold down rear seats, The original Shelby 10-spoke alloy wheels, the original spare wheel in the trunk with the original 10-spoke Shelby wheel.
