Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this completely restored, beautiful 1957 Thunderbird Convertible.
This "Baby Bird" is equipped with the original 312/245hp V8, and is paired to what is believed to be the original automatic transmission. The car was "born with" a 4bbl carburetor (hence the D Code in the VIN), but the dual quad carburetor setup was installed in 1957. The dealer that originally placed the order for the car received notification from Ford Motor Company via a letter dated February 4, 1957 (in which I have a copy) stating the factory dual quad carburetor setup with intake manifold and air cleaner would be available for purchase. It was at this time when the dealer purchased the equipment, and installed it on this car.
The VIN decodes as follows:
D = 312 cubic inch 4V 245 HP V8
7 =1957 model year
F =Dearborn, MI assembly plant
H =Body series code ID
123166 =Consecutive Unit Number
The exterior of this car is featured in the correct Code Q Thunderbird Bronze, and looks absolutely amazing. This is quite possibly the most desirable exterior color for this vintage of Ford. The repaint on this car was done in a highly professional manner, and has held up exceptionally well over the more than 5 years it has been on the car. The hardtop seals up nicely, and the correct Medium Beige canvas top looks to be almost new.
The correct Light Cream Interior is in exceptional condition as well, and would certainly please the most fussy of customer. For your driving pleasure; this T-Bird also features such amenities as:
-Air Conditioning
-Power Steering
-Power Brakes
-Power Windows
The car is nicely finished properly with fender skirts, proper wire wheels wrapped in a set of Coker Wide White Radial tires.
An impressive restoration from top to bottom... beautiful paint over a clean, straight body. The interior, engine compartment and undercarriage are all nicely detailed. In addition to its impressive cosmetics, this '57 T-Bird is very well sorted mechanically that's not going to be anything like what the neighbor is driving. This car looks, runs and drives awesome!
