Here's one stylish vintage, droptop cruiser sure to make everyone look twice. Already a rare sight in convertible form, this 1972 Ford LTD is dressed in a great color combination and is running great. It's been very well maintained and benefits from a bevy of newly installed parts that will allow this awesome-looking ride to provide miles and miles of cruising enjoyment well into the future. The yellow exterior is absolutely smile-inducing. On a sunny day with its convertible top... down, you can just picture a carload full of happy occupants inside as it ably cruises highway or boulevard. Combine the great hue with a very well applied clearcoat and you'll see a nice even shine, no matter your vantage point. A lot of care has also gone into making sure its 45-plus years of service haven't taken their toll and, as you take a lap around, you'll notice that everything lines up nicely and the doors open and shut smoothly. Take a look at the upper and lower trim running along the sides and notice how evenly it matches up from fender to door to quarter panel. During less appealing weather, the white convertible top will present itself in very good condition to provide shelter. This is a great example of '70s automotive styling, with its long broad hood, ornate front grille and extensive use of chrome all over. Appropriately for a car so well-preserved, it remains in its stock stance - low to the ground and level. Take a look inside and you'll see a great by-product of this LTD's generous proportions - an exceedingly roomy and comfortable white vinyl interior inviting you to bring your friends along, as there's more than enough space on those expansive front and back bench seats for everyone. Just below the seating, the expanse of contrasting black carpeting still looks fresh and only lightly used. A lot of important details in the interior have been looked after and that attention has paid dividends. In addition to a quiet ride that belies all its years of duty - certainly helped along by the addition of new seals in the doors and windows - the new A/C system is in fine form to keep passengers comfortable and, with its new hydraulics, the convertible top raises and lowers without incident. The gauges in the well-preserved black and wood patterned dash are all easily readable through clear lenses, and the original AM/FM stereo sitting front and center is still in working condition. An original 1972 Owner's Manual sits securely in the glove box to provide testimony to the car's great history. In the spacious engine compartment sits its original 400 cubic inch V8. Topped by a 4-barrel carb, it's an upgrade over the 351s that LTDs were more commonly equipped with. Bolted to a 3-speed automatic transmission, it runs smoothly and quietly. A number of essential components, including the alternator, master brake cylinder, shocks and bushings, have been replaced to further instill all the confidence you need that this vintage ride is plenty roadworthy - even for lengthier excursions. Power brakes on all four corners - discs in front - provide the stopping power you'll want, and the still-smooth power steering system makes navigating this sizable car a breeze. This very cool vintage droptop sits on a set of 15" stock LTD rims wrapped in new Hankook tires with miles of tread life still in front of them.
