Classic Ford truck with excellent history, and correct restoration to original, factory standards! Only 4 registered owners from new, and showing just 80,000 miles on the odometer! Excellent color combination, superb drivability, and absolutely rust free! Great investment for Ford collectors!
Prior to World War II, Ford produced many models highly desired by collectors today. One design in particular included the years between 1939 thru 1941! The sealed beam headlights were now molded into the fenders, the grill included horizontal bars, the body lines were smoothed with a flat-topped hood, and a better cooling for the flathead V8’s underneath. The same treatment came about for the trucks produced by Ford. The front styling of the passenger cars were now matched with a sturdier cab that was also wider. Inside, the cabin received a softer, cushion seat and better dash instrumentation!
We are very excited to offer this 1941 Ford Pickup finished in highly prized, factory correct Cayuga Blue over Dark Green vinyl interior! This wonderful truck sold new to a Minnesota family to use for their grocery store as the delivery truck and never abused. It was brilliantly maintained, exclusively stored indoors, and used sparingly for 40 years under their care! It was pasted on to the second Minnesota owners, the Fredericks, in the early 1980’s and passionately restored by father & son! A total cosmetic and mechanical overall that included all new cloth-covered wiring, new bare metal repaint, new interior, suspension, body seals, window gaskets, tires, exhaust, etc. Restoration pictures are included. After completion, it would continue to be pampered by them through 2011! It would then be sent to the Barrett-Jackson 3rd Annual Las Vegas Auction and sold to the open public for the first time 70 years! Well, the results spoke for themselves when it caught the eye or Ford expert and connoisseur Dale Mathews of Memory Lane Motors in Portland, Oregon!
Options include the original 221ci Flathead V8 producing 90 horsepower, 3-speed manual transmission, original Ford carburetor, complete dash instrumentation, classic 2-spoke steering wheel, front & rear chrome bumpers, trumpet horn, pop-up cowl vent, chrome headlight surrounds, dual tail lamps, side-mounted spare tire, exhaust turn-down tip, driver outside mirror, turn signals, cab heater/defrost, dual row radiator, locking passenger door, polished hubcaps, wide white sidewall tires, amber fog lamps, and rear tailgate chain guards to protect the paint! Inside the bed, you will find oak rails and polished stainless steel slats, along with upper oak bed rails!
Having been restored over 30 years ago, the current condition is nothing short of remarkable! Mileage records provided indicate it was driven less than 1,000 miles in the past 28 years. It remains remarkably original and one of the most solid examples we have seen in a long while! The bed is virtually free of any damage, as is the tailgate! The original steel body, fenders, and chassis remain rust free! Upon arrival to its new owner in Augusta, Missouri February 2014, the fuel pump & lines were replaced, carburetor rebuilt, distributor gasket placed along with minor tuning to be enjoyed on a large, rural estate. The St. Louis Car Museum acquired it in May of 2018 when this private estate sold and had the distributor rebuilt professionally by Ford expert Larry Sheppard with new factory style coil installed. We then completely cleaned & rebuilt the factory carburetor and installed new front tie rod ends. It continues to start, run, and drive with complete ease! Today, the odometer reads just 80,577 miles which we believe to be actual, but would not have enough documentation to support a true mileage claim. Fully presentable for shows, or weekend cruising, it should fulfill obligations to its next owner as it has for all others in the past!! Please call with any questions or to schedule an appointment to see this wonderful truck in person.
