Square Body 5.0 Mustang - Southern Car NO RUST - Engine Mods - 5-speed
Description
Up for sale is a 1989 square body Ford Mustang with the v8 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. I recently took this in on trade and have done very little but eliminate the stench which came with it.
The carpet was dirty and smelt pretty bad so I pulled it from the car and decided against cleaning it and threw it out. The seats weren't awful so I cleaned them with degreaser and got them looking pretty good(passenger and rear seats are in my garage).
The only other thing I did was chisel off the rivets on the truck which held on a wing that I couldn't stand looking at in my driveway. It can go with the car but I personally advise against it ;)
This bad boy was a southern car and is the reason I traded for it. It's incredible how clean the rockers, frame, and floor boards are. With a new carpet, new top, paint job and body work this would be on its way to being an awesome ride.
The upgrades include but are not limited to(owner told me engine mods but his brother did all the work over the past 15 years so he wasn't completely knowledgeable):
- Aluminum radiator, added relay and electric cooling fans
- BBK Cold Air Intake
- Headers and throttle body spacers
- BBK exhaust (sounds awesome)
- E303 Camshaft
- GT40 Heads
- Short throw shifter
- Fiberglass good(not in great shape)
- Jegs injector rail harness & injectors
- Stage 2 flashpack
- 5 Lug conversion
- Stage 3 clutch
- Roll bar(was cut to accommodate rear passengers)
- Looks like there have been rear suspension upgrades(I noticed a minor clunk in the rear right though)
The not so good:
- Carpet(unless you're gonna make it a track car)
- New top (the one on it is pretty bad(couple holes here and there and the clear vinyl in the back is not good. It does go up and down though automatically)
- Cluster gauge doesn't like to work.
- Odometer doesn't work and says 40k last reported mileage was 120k over 10 years ago.
- Engine temp gauge doesn't work(there's an aftermarket multi gauge which shows oil pressure, rpms, and engine temp but only 2/3 work... I would think it needs a temp sensor. Previous owner never had issues but I didn't want to sell a car that overheats so I drove it around for an hour and pulled over a handful of times to feel and check engine. Seems to be good.)- 9 owners over the near 30 year life.
- Minor clunk in rear right corner.
- Until warmed up you need to give it a little throttle since they did the EGR delete. After warmed up it idles smooth.
Send me a message if you want to take it for a spin.
Will be sold with previous registration and bill of sale.
