This auction is for a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Big Block. This fastback is a rare, high option, low production car. First of all, this is a big block 390 fastback. There were only 7,402 390 big block fastbacksequipped with an AT/ C6of the 71,042 fastbacks produced in 1967.
In addition, this Mustang was produced in one of the rarest colors, not just for 1967 but throughout all years ofMustang production. It is Raven Black with deluxe/ luxury black interior. There were only 497 1967 fastbacks produced in Raven Black with deluxe black interior. This is the rare black on black combination.
Making this even rarer is that this 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback was ordered and built with 19 options. The basic Marti Report (a photo copy included) shows:
C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic
Equa-Lock Differential
F70-14 Wide Oval Tires
White Sidewall Nylon Tires
Lower Back Panel Grille (1 of 2,779 produced in 1967)
Console (upper and lower)
Sport Deck Rear Seat
Power Disc Brakes
Power Steering
Tilt-Away Steering Wheel (1 of 3,184 produced in 1967)
Air Conditioner - Selectaire (1 of 9,898 produced in 1967)
AM/8 - Track Stereo Radio (1 of 3,634 produced in 1967)
Exterior Decor Group
Interior Decor Group
Tinted Glass
Deluxe Seat Belts
Styled Steel Wheels
Heavy Duty Suspension
Tachometer and Trip Odometer (1 of 5,615 produced with tach in 1967)
Of these options, all are present except the AM/8 - Track Stereo Radio unit. When taking the color, drivetrain and extensive list of options, this car is surely one of one or one of a very few produced like it. A deluxe Marti Report would make the exact production definitive.
There were only 10,526 total Black Mustangs produced in 1967. Of that, only 2,835 were Fastbacks and of that we arrive at the 497 Black Fastbacks with deluxe Black interior.
This Mustang was also ordered without the GT package which makes this a sleeper and rare with the 390 engineand all of the options.
This Mustang belongs to my father and I am listing this for him. The vehicle itself is up for auction ashe hastoo many projects right now and lost his vehicle storage at this time. As you can see in the photos, he also has a 1955 Ford Sunliner that he had stored and is now forced to sell due to lack of storage.
The Mustang will obviously need a complete restoration and needs the common Mustang sheet-metal replaced. Again this is a rare car and is 99% complete and original. Upon thorough inspection, I would say that the paint is original with no re-paints. It has the correct carburetor as well as it has the complete, Ford Air conditioning set-up. The vacuum tank is still present as well. Even the original Ford radiator is in the car.
The car was delivered to the Twin Cities area and was purchased out of Nebraska when my father purchased it. It comes with a clean and clear Nebrask title and bill of sale.
Please note that Big Block fastbacks are heavily sought after and when combining this with the rarity in color and options of this car, the end restored value is easily a six figure car. We recently watched another 1967 MustangBig Block in black go through auction for that six figure range. The end result makes this a desirable car and deserves to be restored.
