Description

We are selling our 1964 Ford Falcon Ranchero. It is a one of a kind car.You will never see another one like it.From the outside, it looks like a stock 64 Ranchero six cylinder, as so many of them were.Everything changes when you lift the hood.Instead of the 170 ci straight six installed by the factory in 1964 you will find nestled between the shock towers a 3.8L supercharged, intercooled and fuel injected V6 that was transplanted from a 1995 Thunderbird SC.The motor is fully rebuilt & bored .030.It has a power pulley on the supercharger and is producing 12lbs of boost. It is mated to a 1998 Mustang T-5 5-speed manual transmission that fills the tunnel where the factory 3-speed one lived. The motor is supported by custom made CNC billet aluminum motor mounts with poly bushings to limit movement & vibration. The exhaust is routed through custom built tubular headers feeding into dual 2.5" exhaust with an x pipe & Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. The exhaust system is tucked up nicely so that it does not scrape on speed bumps. The exhaust exits are hidden and flush with the rear fenders. The power from the motor flows through the smooth shifting T-5 transmission through an aluminum driveshaft into a narrowed rear end from 1997 Ford Explorer. It has 3.27:1 gears and a limited slip differential. This little truck really moves!Since it moves so good, it also needs to stop. That is accomplished with 4 wheel manual disc brakes. The system is fed by a Willwood 7/8" bore master cylinder through all braided stainless -3 brake line into Willwood front 4 piston caliper disc brakes, and stock 1997 Explorer disc brakes in the rear.We even managed to incorporate the 97 Explorer foot pedal actuated parking brake into the car.

With the highly modified drive train, it needed an interior to match. So we made a solid wood dashboard and filled it with Autometer gauges. We then made a custom console to house the Custom Autosound CD stereo and the center a/c vents.Yes, the car has a Classic Auto Air air conditioning system with 4 vents in the cab.It cools it down quickly on those hot cruising days.Every panel in the interior was given a fresh coat of paint. The stock bench seat was redone with two tone upholstery. The door panels were redone to match. With the wood grain steering wheel, the car is beautiful and rich on the inside.

With all the added features and power, the car was converted over to V8 steering and suspension. It has lowering coils in the front, and the upper control arms have been dropped 1".It has a 1" front sway bar and KYB shocks. It has a vario eccentric camber kit in front and adjustable strut rods to get the proper alignment for improved handling & safety. The rear is 4-leaf mid eye leaf springs.Subframe connectors were added to the car.To ease the burden of steering, electric power steering was added. The system was sourced from a Saturn Vue and was integrated into the stock Ranchero steering column and steering box.

The body of the car was sandblasted down to bare metal, at which point we found the rust in the floor pans. The floor pans were replaced, and all rust in the car was removed and repaired with new metal. The entire underside of the car was coated with truck bedliner for sound deadening and to protect the metal for many years to come. The entire vehicle inside and out was coated in epoxy primer to seal it before any paint was applied. There is no rust left in this car and it should not be able to start again because of how the car was prepped.

The fuel system consisted of the original tank that was boiled out and cleaned. It feeds a small fuel chamber via a low pressure lift pump that keeps a constant supply of fuel to the high pressure Bosch 044 fuel pump. The fuel flows from the pump through stainless steel lines to the motor and back through the return. The return flows back into the small fuel chamber, and when the chamber fills it returns to the tank. This is the proper way to plumb a EFI fuel system into an early non-vented tank to prevent vapor lock and fuel delivery problems.

The car was painted in a two tone of 2017 Mustang colors - White & Deep Impact Blue. The red vinyl pinstripe was applied before the clear coat.Approximately 6 layers of clear were applied and the car was then cut & buffed. It is smooth & soft to the touch and shines beautifully in the sun. There are a few small chips in the car form the assembly process and driving it that have been touched up.

After nearly 3 years of labor between a father and son, this car is finally ready to Move on to it's forever home.We have had a lot of fun building this unique car, and did more to it that we ever dreamed of doing. We were rewarded with a best in class trophy at the Restomods in Reno car show in the car's first ever show.It gets lots of looks and has started conversations every place we have taken it.We know that whoever takes this home will have a turn key driver/show car that they can enjoy for years to come. With only 750 miles on the odometer since it's complete overhaul, it truly is a new car in a classic body.

The car is currently located in Reno, Nevada.
