1965 Ford Fairlane Sport Coupe In the mid 60s the term full-size meant "FULL"size and mid-sized meant not as big, and that's where the Ford Fairlane fit into the lineup. Not so big as to require a harbor pilot's license to guide it down the street but big enough to put a few friends in it and enjoy a drive-in movie. Not including those in the trunk. To spice things up the powers that be at Ford created the Sport... Coupe trim package to compliment the sleek lines of the sheet metal which included a full console with floor shift and bucket seats. This one is powered by the correct C Code 200 horse 289 V-8 Engine and a Cruise-O-Matic transmission with said console and floor shifter. The true beauty of this one is the word "Original", Yes this is an unrestored 2 owner car with 31000 miles and "the original" paint and interior. Other than the typical wear items that you have to replace just to keep it drive-able, such as brakes, hoses, belts, the only alteration to original are the wheels and tires...oh yea the lighted up cat in the rear window would be optional. This is one is a nicely optioned with the original engine along with it being in a great color combination. The 2 barrel 289 runs smooth and has complete correct single exhaust system. Finished in correct Rangoon Red with White roof and complimenting Red and White interior it looks great too. We left this one original in that we did not detail the engine bay or the underside. It isn't as pretty under the hood as most we sell but we figured being a two owner original car why mess with it. Features The word "Original" gets batted around a lot in this business but they don't come much more "original" than this one It comes with full owner history, which isn't hard since there have only been two the C code 289 V8 with 2V Carb Correct smooth shifting Cruise-O-Matic Factory AM Radio in the dash Performance Tuned Mellow Single Exhaust Finished in Rangoon Red and White, the paint is original but in very good shape with only some minor flaws and some spots on the passenger fender from what may have been a bad battery The windows work well and the glass is clear Immaculate White with Red Bucket Seat Interior with center console with brushed aluminum trim Full Length Rocker Moldings The Chrome and stainless are in very good shape and the rear bumper still has the selling dealers sticker on it Safety Guard Padded Dash along with Front and Rear Seat Belts Factory Instrumentation, wheel lip trim, very good chrome and stainless Drivers side Chrome Rear View Mirror and Day Night Interior Rear View The wheels are 14 inch aftermarket American Racing Torque Thrusts with RWL Goodyear Polyglas F70s Correct two Spoke Steering Wheel with leather wrap Original Engine Bay with original Trunk Mat and newer Spare with jack We sell a lot of Mustangs, but rarely see a Fairlane Sport Coupe, especially in this kind of original shape
