Description

CLASSIC 1977 FORD RANGER XLT F-150 A/C

Very clean and solid old ford. Rust free, stored indoors alot. Original paint. No filler. I bought this truck from the son of the original owner. 4V V8 with automatic. It runs and drives great. A/C. Below are all the details on the Ford. I do have many more pics I can send also. Only 24 fit on here.Email me if your interested in doing something early on it or have questions. Thanks

MECHANICAL

This has the 351m V8 4-barrel. It runs really nice. Starts right up. No smoke or odd noises. Everything works. The A/C comes on and works but is not very cold. There is pressure in the system so it most likely needs a charge top off. Pump works. I checked it. The engine runs smooth and quiet and doesn't knock. Good oil pressure. Does not overheat. No water in the oil or oil in the water. Transmission works perfectly The brakes, lights, wipers, heater, and speedometer work. Power brakes, steering and AC. The tires on it drive nice and they are "new", but they are weather cracked. The previous owner bought new tires but it was driven little after that. I'd buy new tires if your going to drive it alot. It drives very nice and is really comfortable. These old 2wd fords ride really good. The wheels/tires that come on it are in the last two pics. The aluminum rims on it in the pics are 1992-1997 ford half ton wheels. There a many out there and cheap to buy. This truck will need very little besides tires to drive it every day. I'd change the fluids and do a tuneup on it but it really doesn't need it. I'd just do it so I knew when the plugs/wires etc. had all been changed. Very quiet exhaust. I would personally put Headers and dual exhaust on it myself. It would sound better and add power, but it has good power now. I was told the motor had been rebuilt and has an RV cam. It has a mild lope.

BODY

No rust. Cab corners, cab mounts, floors, floor supports, box, doors, jams, sills, rockers, frame, hood, front fenders, inner fenders, header, firewall, cowl, tailgate, are all very clean and dry. I could not find any bubbling or pinhole rust. Paint looks to be original. I'm sure it matches the paint code and there isn't overspray on the seals or anything. The truck looks nice. Some pics were taken recently. The last two were taken a few weeks ago in the bright sn. The body is very straight. A couple small dings, but it's really very minimal and you can tell the truck was taken care of. There is no rust. The floor on the drivers sided has a diamond plate piece over the carpet. It was not for rust. Just to keep the carpet from coming apart worse. The bed had a topper on it for many years. No rust in the bed either.

INTERIOR

The interior is not perfect but pretty clean and nice. Pictures tell the story. Dash has a crack but is pleanty usable. Carpet is original and has wear. Doorpanels and headliner are pretty nice. Seat has wear/rips on the drivers seat area. It's comfortable though and springs are not bad. I don't think I tried the stereo. Heater, gauges, wipers, speedometer and lights work.

OVERALL

This is a solid ford for restoration, or put tires on it and drive it as-is. The '73-'79 fords are very popular models, and tons of restoration parts are available. Basically anything you would need. Thanks and happy bidding. Sold as-is.
