1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350 Convertible Clone
This 1966 Mustang convertible was built to be a more accurate Shelby GT350 Convertible clone than most and has been part of our large collection of European sports cars for the last 7 years. During that time the car has been driven sparingly. Originally built by a Ford dealer for his son, the car has been subjected to a major front to back service.
The car has the extremely RARE optional Shelby FIV Secura steering wheel, worth almost $5,000 dollars by itself.
The signature by Carroll Shelby is believed to be one of the last he ever signed.

This GT350 Convertible clone was always stored in a humidity-controlled garage as part of a major Porsche collection. The classic Mustang specialist who serviced the car was impressed with the condition of the car and no signs of rust anywhere.
There is a minor cosmetic blemish of cracking around the front of the hood scoop on the left and right at the front as the hood scoop is grafted to the metal hood and is non-functional - pictures can be viewed on the Shutterfly link. Tony Branda sells the correct hood, we just never felt the need to change it.
In going over the car I noticed the radio does not work, I will also include the original in the sale and the passenger side window wants to roll up at a slight angle so I had to assist it going up. May be a regulator issue but otherwise works fine.
289 motor rebuilt to Hi-Po standards with period correct ceramic tri-y headers.
Also on the engine is a never been used 100 HP nitrous system, and a new Edelbrock carb. Rather than rebuild the existing Holley carb, the mechanic chose to replace it with an Edelbrock.
The motor features electronic ignition with a hi-output pertronix coil and a alternator and starter with less than 500 miles on them.
The transmission shifts very well, having been rebuilt by David Kee in 2007, it is the correct 4 speed for the Shelby – with a believed less than 500 miles since the rebuild.
Also, the clutch and pressure plate have a believed less than 500 miles on them.
This 1966 Shelby GT 350 Convertible Clone has always started on the first try and never smoked. it drives beautifully with a wonderfully balanced ride.
