Description

Running, stopping and driving (barely) project truck. I bought this truck a couple of years ago with the intentions of bringing her back from the dead. When I got it, It had been sitting for a couple of decades (not sure exactly but tires are from 70s.) Got it from an older gentleman who said the last owner who bought in 1962 was an electrical contractor, once he retired he parked the truck and never drove it again. It comes with his notebook that has phone numbers with... letters in them (before they were all numbers.)
I thought "how bad can it be?" to get her running. Just clean out the gas tank and carb and it will probably fire right up, right? Wrong! I had to address almost every area of the truck mechanically to get it going. The past two years I have hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars adding or replacing...

Starter
One tie rod replaced, other is still in the box
Bucked up on the seat using mid fifty to recover the factory seat for a seat that is very close to factory. The inside of the seat is in very good condition, I fixed anything broken I could find.
It has rust, which should be obvious from the pictures. The frame is VERY solid.I wanted to clear coat it, lower the truck, and put lettering on the doors. It is currently a blank slate for you to customize your way or restore. Both cab corners are rusted, parts of the floorboard (perfect for some sign sheetmetal.) The lip of the hood, top and bottom of the tailgate are also rusted through. She has diamond plate welded in the back portion of the bed, the front 2' or so is only the frame and no bottom. Wood be easy to cover.
The 223 mileage maker I6 will start right up and the three on the tree shifts like it should, and that is something I wanted to keep because you really don't see them anymore. The clutch is good and doesn't slip.I take Ol' Rusty on short trips around town. The reason I said it "barely" drives is that... It will overheat if it sits too long (and idles higher than it should) without moving or from just running for to long. There are no headlights, brake lights, blinkers, or any working exterior lights! Driving something without brake lights is dangerous, and although a hand signal is legal, it needs fixed! The picture showing the headlights is deceiving because I recently got them on for only a few minutes. I went to get the tail lights working and the head lightsquit working. I haven't messed with them since. This truck will come with a complete F-100/International truckwiring kit with a fuse box. The reason why the rear wheels look pushed in is because the bed is a longbed from I believe a F-200? and the truck itself is a F100 short bed. You could shorten the bed (factory riveted not welded) or leave as is. I have not had the truck any faster than 45 mph. It is still a 6v positive ground system. Have never tested the wipers, and the blades are missing although the arms are there. Added another battery (2 total) for more capacity. I recommend you bring a trailer if youare the winner and I can you load it.I can help ship it, only if it is picked up from my house in the South County portion of St. Louis. Years ago the nearest shipping facility was in north county (Ferguson area) is about 30 minutes away from me, which I do not and will notgo to.Clean and clear title in my name.Below is a link to a video I took 09/01/2018. This will show a greater detail than the limited pictures on here.
