Up for auction is a beautiful 1994 Mustang Cobra Indy 500 Pace car 1 of 1000 made. I purchased this vehicle several months ago from an insurance auction. It was a TX flood vehicle that I repaired/had repaired. It does have a Kentucky Red Rebuilt title which can'tbe titled in certain states so please check with your DMV before bidding. I have been repairing flood and wrecked vehicles both as a business and now on the side for the last 20 years. As I always do, when I received the vehicle I drained and replaced all fluids, checked all fuse boxes and electrical connections, as well as take out the seats and carpet to clean and dry them if needed. Please read the whole description of this vehicle as I want to be as detailed as possible because of what it is.
After draining all of the fluids I took the car straight to the local Ford dealer to a good friend of mine who is the master mechanic there and had him go through the car front to back and fix anything that was an issue with OEM parts. The seat switch had to be replaced, the airbag module, the ABS unit and module, and the AC compressor. Everything else appears to be working like it should. The car is still all stock from front to back with the only exception being the radio antenna. The Pace car stickers were never installed and are still in the factory box in the truck as you can see in the picture. Most of the factory interior stickers are still intact which is something I have never seen before.
There are 2 problems that I need to address so you the potential buyer know everything up front. When I was driving the car home from the gas station last week the mileage stopped clocking, which is more than likely the plastic gear the makes the mileage rotate. With that being said I have not taken it apart to see if that is the case nor have I driven the car again so that the mileage will stay correct. The last issue is the fact again that this vehicle does bare a Kentucky Red Rebuilt which can't be licensed in every state, it also is marked as not actual mileage on the title. The reason for this is as follows, certain states such as TX which is where the car came from mark the title as mileage exempt when a car is over 10 years old, without an affidavit from the insurance company who I purchased the car from, the state of KY will mark it not actual miles. Although to the best of my knowledge and everything that we could pull through Fords data base it does appear to be correct and actual.
Last thing I will do is rate the car in different areas on a scale of 1-10.
Exterior: Paint, Lights, Top; 8 there is one dime size dent in the car and a few minor scratches, lights all look like brand new, the top still looks to be almost perfect.
Engine: 8 has some surface rust on the headers but everything else is all factory and still looks and functions like it did new.
Wheels: 10 they still look like they did when they were brand new.
Tires: 10 although not the factory tires they are new.
Interior: 8 The seats look as close to new as I have ever seen in one of these body style cars of this age, The steering wheel air bag has very minor very small wear on the left hand side of it, the factory floor mats show some signs of minor wear.
Transmission: 10 shifts like a new car.
Please feel free to call or text me at 270-746-1216 with any questions. This is a beautiful car in every way I am just trying to be overly honest because of what this car is. I am selling it as a NO RESERVE because I simply have no clue what it should be priced at. I know the condition, miles, and the fact the stickers were never put on make it a different animal, but I also know the title will hurt it some.
