1959 Classic Car Ford TBird Turquoise 62K Running Great Vintage Antique 300HP V8
Description
Please bid with confidence in my 100% feedback. eBay seller 18 years, since 2000.
Rare Indian Turquoise colored 1959 Thunderbird. Known as the "Squarebird". 300HP V8 engine. Low miles, under 61,900. Well maintained. Car restored. Transmission rebuilt 9k miles ago (cost $2500 have the receipts). Suspension rebuilt (cost $2250 have receipts). Interior completely redone ($2000 with some receipts) along with paint (no receipt but expensive). Many new parts under the hood: voltage regulator/alternator, charging system, battery (w/2 year warranty), starter solenoid, starter cable, points, oil, condenser, fuel line, carb rebuild, timing set ($1200 with receipts). Running well. I have paperwork for the past 10 years. Lot of trim and little things added to make the car true to original form. Dynamat added under the carpets in the car, and in the trunk (another $1000 job).
1959 owner's manual included! Plus will throw in some extra hard to find parts.
Luxury car of its time. Power windows, power steering, power driver's seat, power brakes, all lights working inside (dash) and out (headlights, tail/brake lights). Windshield wipers work. Eligible for car shows as an all original vehicle. All parts are original, new old stock parts, or high quality reproductions.
Inspected in June, is currently registered and insured.
The only downside is that there is rust in the rear quarter panels, and in rocker panels. A couple additional bubbles here and there. This is why the price is reduced. Please let me know if you have questions and I will be glad to provide close up photographs of effected areas. Would be final touch to complete overall restoration! This color is rare and valuable and would sell for twice as much if 100% perfect in every way.
Car is 95% good. But I want to list every imaginable imperfection for transparency. To nitpick, the clock has stopped running but this is typical - all that needs to be done is to remove the clock and have the contacts cleaned off and the clock will run again I am certain. The rear driver-side window has been disconnected from the power switch and can be re-connected. This was because it got stuck one time in the open position and we didn't want to risk it happening again. Not a big deal. The radio in the dash was disconnected as well b/c it only plays AM radio. So instead we have an AM/FM radio with CD player hooked up and working in the glove box. This can also plug into your phone's headphone jack to play music from your phone. When front seats are folded forward there is a loose seam at bottom base of seats where the rug and seat covers meet. This can be sewn back together but I wanted to mention it. Only visible when seats folded forward for someone to get into rear. Lastly, one of the two mufflers (dual exhaust vehicle) has a slight crack in it. These are inexpensive to replace ($35). The result is that the car sounds a little louder or aggressive than it would if you replaced muffler. I kind of like how it sounds though so I have left it as is. It is nothing major.
All welcome to view vehicle, I will take you out for a drive. You are free to have a mechanic of your choosing check the car out. Please note that I am not a mechanic and don't know a lot about cars so it's best to have a mechanic or someone knowledgeable evaluate. All I know is I had my mechanic (a classic car specialist... an expensive one) do everything to the car necessary that he could find to do. And he sure tried to find all the ways he could charge me for work! I had it all done. If you are not local I can work with you to get a mechanic's report from a place of your choosing.
