This rare original Northern California registered 1963 Ford Falcon Ranchero Deluxe, has a clean title and is a numbers matching vehicle with a factory V8 and a Borg Warner T-10 4 speed transmission. The engine was rebuilt and bored .030 over, making it approx. 271 CID.
This beautiful survivor was part of a barn find, virtually rust free. It had been stored inside for 22 years with the registration in non-op status. I have owned it for past 3 years and have diligently tried to keep it as original as possible, by using NOS parts when I could find them and premium quality replacement parts as required. The stock radio works. The odometer shows 82,745 miles and I have no reason to doubt its accuracy.
The changes from stock original parts are the 14” powder coated stock ford steel wheels, 4 bbl carburetor and manifold, under engine brace, Pertronics billet distributor, period correct old school finned aluminum valve covers from the 60’s, 2 ¼” dual exhaust, headers, air cleaner, alternator, steering wheel.
The paint was done some years ago and is in exceptional condition.
THE ORIGINAL 260 V8 ENGINE WAS REBUILT AND BORED .030 OVER WITH A MID RANGE CAM GIVING A SLIGHTLY LOPING BUT SMOOTH IDLE ANDPLENTYOF POWER.
This old girl is a survivor, virtually rust free. The smugglers box is rust free, the drain holes function as designed. She does show patina for her 55 years and is not a show car. But she is a first class, drive anywhere, driver and car show favorite. She has her original bench seat and aftermarket carpet.
The final items I was going to address were new seat upholstery, carpets and dash pad. I would have replaced original knobs but I kinda like the patina. If you want to step on the loud pedal, shewillset your hair on fire!!!!
I have diligently brought this old girl to her current state by meticulously addressing all issues related to making her 100% reliable and original. I am a retired machinist with a good eye for details and I refreshed this wonderful example to keep for myself. Health issues now dictate otherwise, so I am reluctantly putting her up for sale. It was not my intent to sell her. If you are looking for an honest daily driver Ranchero (California to Maine and back), this is your vehicle.
