1929 - 241 FORD REDRAM
For auction is a 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup powered by a 241 cubic inch Red Ram Hemi and a 5 speed Camaro transmission. This car was purchased from a farmer who originally bought it in 1929 in Placerville, California. Rick Mohr from Placerville bought the remains from the farmerandbuilt this car to be a shop truck for his business. I have a 92 page notebook with receipts for every pennyRickspent on this car with details on all parts and construction notesincluding an 88 page photo album. Stopped counting after $50,000. Some of the features of the car include: Auto Meter gauges, SO-CAL Speed Shop steering damper, KWIK TOP roadster top, Painless wiring kit, Original all steel body except for Brookville rear fenders and running boards, Flaming River steering, Wilwood brake reservoir, 12 volt Halogen rear reflector, LED brake lights, original 1929 plate, Odyssey PC60Drycell AGMBattery, 1940 Ford steering wheel, Leather seats and door panels with map pockets, Woodgrain dash by Bob Kennedy,19.5 gallon tank in bed with reflector, wooden box in bed from a SierraNevada mine,The body has been stretched 4 1/2 inches at the door providing plenty of leg room, The truck bed has been shortened 4 1/12 inches to balance the car's profile, A new Rootlieb hood was installed with SO-CAL Speed Shop blisters on the hood sides to clear the Hemi valve covers, Hemi engine parts purchased from HOT HEADS,Manifold with two 2 barrel carbs. The chassis is custom built and powder coated light green, 48 Ford brakes, coil over shocks in rear, very clean and well engineered. The car drives very smooth without bumps and will cruise all day in 5th gear at very low RPM, 241 Dodge Hemi with plenty of torque will pull any hill.
I have owned the car for one year and have "refreshed" the engine and chassis with the following upgrades: New gaskets and seals on the entire engine and trans, rebuilt the POWERMASTER alternator, rebuilt the water pump, Note-in 100 degreedeserttemperature, the engine does not exceed 180 and normally runs at 150, New water pump pulley, New thermostat, replaced front engine mount bolts and rubber, New fan belt, Added hood prop kit, New timing chain and gears, new oil pan and dip stick, New battery posts and safety switch, New clutch adjustment cable and bracket, New Autometer water temp gauge sender, New radiator hoses, recently replaced all engine, trans, and rear end fluids, fresh spark plugs, new distributor rotor, Aircraft quality 4 inch seat belts, plusI have an entire notebook with every part number and receipt.
The photos of the under carriage show the truck having wire wheels. I have changed to 16 inchsteel wheels and the Firestone tires are 500/525-16 in front and 700/16 in rearold school bias ply with a very smooth ride
Since I have spent the time and money "tuning" up the car with new and rebuilt components, you can be assured you will have less trouble owning this 29 than usual cars on this site. The truck is NOT a show car. Consider buying this 29 because you want a daily driver and you are not afraid of scratches. I am selling the truck for family health reasons but can afford to keep it if my price is not met. The car is located in Hemet, California but I can arrange shipping to any place in the world. Appointments can be arranged to see and drive the car in Hemet. Mileage on engine is about 2500 miles.
