This is anoriginal California, 1980 Ford F150 Ranger.
The 4.9 liter engine starts right up and runs extremely well! Mechanically the truck is great! There are no apparent leaks, smoke, overheating issues or strange noises. The entire drive trainis solid and tight. Due to the 5 digit odometer and the age of the vehicle there is no way for us to verify the mileage.
-The automatic transmission shifts properly into all gears
-The brakes, steering and suspension are in good working order.
-All electrical systems operated properly when tested
-Climate controls operate, the heater and horn will need service
-Trouble free manual windows and locks
The structural integrity is superb and the frame is rock solid. The exterior finish appears to be original and still retains a nice shine with lots of patina. The truck has always been in Northern California close to the coast, so it does have spots of rust/blistering. The rust consists of some blistering/corrosion most on the left side of the cab, hood, right fender and bed area all clearly shown on the pictures below. There are minor dings, dents, chips, scratches, scrapes, hazing, fading, nicks and various other imperfections you will usually find on most un-restored vehicles.
The most important parts and structural integrity are great! The frame, rockers, floors and rest of the truck are excellent!
The overall appearance is very clean and respectable!
-Tires all have descent tread remaining....not sure of the age
-Nice custom wheels
-A+ Chrome and complete trim/body moldings
-Windshield is cracked on the bottom left corner
The interior is good overall
-Very nice lookingre-upholstered front bench. The carpets, dash and door panel armrestshow some wear.Nice door panels.
This is a true American classic pickup truck that could serve the new owner very well for years to come as it sits, or is a great candidate to restore.
