1963 FORD GALAXIE 500 “GORGEOUS SURVIVOR 43000 MILES” DRIVES LIKE NEW NO RESERVE
Description
I HAVE ALMOST 100 PHOTOS OF THE BOTTOM AND CLOSE UP OF CHROME AND TRIM!! JUST SEND ME YOUR EMAIL THROUGH EBAY
This 63 is far and away the nicest survivor I have ever had! I have had several. The drive train is original. The 289 starts and runs exceptionally well. The Cruise -O- Matic transmission shifts as it should. The 63 drives and rides like new! Brakes stop just fine. Yes you can drive this 63 across the country. There are no power options for the 63. The paint is original and very nice. Has a very nice shine! You have to get very close before you see any blemishes. But there are some scratches and very small dings. It is 55 years old. But the bright work steals the show! The chrome, stainless and aluminum trim are exceptional! The stainless has not been buffed. The chrome has not been redone. The aluminum side trim is as close to NOS as you can find. Usually it has dents or scratches. This is so close to factory fresh! There is no rust through anywhere. The bottom of the car has surface rust. Very little undercoating. This was a Michigan car it’s entire life! With the exception of the carpet the interior is all original and exceptional! No tears or blemish on the seats. As with the outside the interior chrome is beautiful. All the windows work perfectly. The windows fuzzies and weatherstripping are like new! Norattles no looseness. All the glass is original. Has the Ford markings. Again I have close up photos of everything. With the exception of the trunk ( looks like a animal tried to get in and chewed it up in one spot) all of the weatherstripping is very nice and playable. Has new Cooper white wall tires. Less than 1000 miles on them. It does have some very small issues.
Windshield washer does not work The windlass is dry and stiff. So the 63 is not quite air tight. Noticeable when you are driving. The left turn signal on the instrument panel does not work. The actual turn signal works fine.If you do not drive or start the 63 regularly it will leak transmission fluid a bit. If you drive it regularly it completely stops leaking. The passenger front door on the bottom does not align perfectly with the back door. It is in a bit. I would guess it came from the factory that way. Have photo of that also.
I also have the original window sticker, shipping invoice and owners manual. Just a little history on the Galaxie. It was shipped to Jackson Ford in Portland Michigan. Sold to L.F. Hoenicke. He passed away the next year. His sister Geraldine (who gave him the money to purchase the 63) kept the Galaxie for herself. Every spring the local garage would pick the 63 up and do whatever needed to be done. Every fall Geraldine would put the 63 in her garage. This went on until the early 80’s. It was in the garage since then. It was sold to a great nephew then to a dealership then I purchased it. So basically it was a one family auto until I purchased it. I understand how difficult it is to buy a car without seeing it in person. That is why I put this on auction for 10 days. Please email me through eBay!! I will send you every photo I have of the incredible 63! But if you can come see the car in person. You absolutely will be allowed to drive the 63. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you!
