Description

I have an agrement with my wife to list one time only at this price no low balls I may come down to help with gas money but thats about it . I think the car is just about all 58 it is titled as 1957 and the vin tag matches the title but only the back end of the 57 and 58 where the same the rest appears to be 58. I think it is best used for advertising because everybody loves to look at this car and thanks again to all that sent info. FROM THE WEB The Ford Courier Sedan Delivery was built between 1952 and 1960 as a solution for those who needed cargo space but didn’t want or didn’t need a truck. Ford developed the the Sedan Delivery on the 1956 sedan platform – which itself was an updated version of the iconic 1955 Ford.

Ford built just 6,178 Couriers in 1957 and many (if not most) saw a hard life as a delivery vehicle for stores across the USA, they were used by everyone from florists and bakers, to builders and plumbers. Very few survived more than 20 or so years due to their hard lives and lack of perceived value – and they’re now a rare sight on the road.

typically installed Mileage Maker 6-cylinder engine – which although economical (for the era) tended to leave a lot to be desired from a performance perspective.

From 1957 onwards Ford used a new tailgate design for the Sedan Delivery that involved the whole thing lifting up and sitting in a raised position with a brace on the left hand side. The flat bed in the back made the model popular with young men in the years after its working life was past – for surf trips and the seduction of young women (much to the chagrin of their fathers). it appears to me that sometime in the 1980s it was made in to a daily driver has a 351 Windsor engine that previous owner says was rebuilt don’t know how long ago or how many miles but it runs strong and it’s pretty clean. I have only driven it in my driveway but it does go forward and reverse Frame is very solid and straight needs brakes and tires and would probably be ready to drive and fix as you go. this car will need quite a bit of bodywork the floor plans were repaired with sheet metal and rivets I think the rocker panels were replaced with rivets driver side has rusted out again. clear Indiana titleThe vin numbers on the car do match the title and indicate it is a 1957 all of the glass is there and no cracks a few bubbles in the wing windows
