Description
The recent passing of a prominent Pasadena performance car collector has brought the opportunity to own the rarest of rare- an exceptionally clean, straight, rust free, west coast 1963.5 Ford Galaxie 500XL R code. The 427ci, 425hp center oiler engine was built by Tom Rice, and along with the big, top loader four speed transmission, clutch, and nodular “n” case rear end with a 3.50 Detroit Locker, have only 200 miles on them. The engine is NOM, all NOS parts were used in the renovation. The body is all original with the exception of a replaced trunk floor. The paint is beautiful, and appears to be at least 50% original. The only flaw on the body is a golf ball size ding on the roof. The undercarriage is pristine and rust free. The car has a complete, including headliner, SMS interior. The only flaw on the interior is a small crack in the dash pad.Other additions include power steering, a dual master cylinder, headers, a scatter shield, and American mags. The stock headers and bell housing are included in the sale. Also included are log books and fastidious records from the previous Oregon owner.
This car has amazing presence, a true survivor that has been exceptionally well preserved, and cherished. It runs and drives like new, with only 4,587 miles showing. To miss this opportunity will only lead to regret! The car can be seen in person at Elco Welding, Venice CA.
