Description

NORESERVE!!. THIS HAS BEAUTIFUL 100 % FACTORY ORIGINAL PAINT ON A SOLID AND STRAIGHT ACCIDENT FREE BODY! AUCTION ENDS WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 24TH AT 7:00PM PST. THIS 78 F250 4X4 IS A SOLID ORIGINAL WORK HORSE IN ALL ORIGINAL PAINTOF THE FACTORY COLOR COMBO OF DARK BROWN METALLIC WITH CREAM CENTER BELLY. IT WAS BUILT FOR THE SEATTLE AREA MARKET WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT NEW AND HAS SINCE REMAINED IN THE WASHINGTON STATE IT'S ENTIRE LIFE WHERE WE HAVE MILD WINTERS AND USE NO SALT ON THE ROADS WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE SUCH KILLER WELL PRESERVED SURVIVORS LIKE THIS BROWN BEAUTY. IT CAME FACTORY ORDERED WITH THE LOADED RANGER PACKAGE THAT HAS ALL THE UPPER LEVER TRIM ON THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, 400 V8 C6 AUTO TRANSMISSION, FACTORY A/C,OVER HEAD CAB LIGHTS, CRUISE, POWER STEERING AND POWER DISC BRAKES UP FRONT. ALL THE DRIVETRAIN IS THE ORIGINAL TO THIS TRUCK. THE EXTERIOR BODY IS ALL THE ORIGINAL BODY PANELS THIS TRUCK STARTED WITH AND THIS TRUCK HAS NOT HAD ONE INCH OF PAINT WORK DONE. THE ORIGINAL 40 YEAR OLD LACQUER PAINT STILL HAS A VERY SMOOTH AND HIGH GLOSS SHINE. THIS CLASSIC F-SERIES HAS THE LOOK AND AGE THAT PEOPLE SPEND THOUSANDS TO REPLICATE AND I HONESTLY CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT WHAT A GREAT LOOK AND STANCE THIS FORD CUSTOM HAS. IT HAS AN INCREDIBLE LOOK ABOUT IT THAT JUST TELLS IT'S STORY SITTING STILL WITH IT'S BEAUTIFUL PATINA, SLIGHT WEAR AND AGING ON PAINT AND PANEL EDGES.THIS TRUCK’S CONDITION AFTER FOUR DECADES SHOWS IT HAS BEEN USED, BUT ALSO SHOWS THE CARE AND LOVE IT HAS RECEIVED TO STAY LOOKING THIS GOOD. IS WHAT I WOULD CALL A TRUE SURVIVOR THAT TO ME HAS A KILLER CLASSIC HIGHBOY STYLE LOOK AND STANCE THAT LITERALLY SHOWS WHAT IT HAS SEEN IN IT'S JOURNEY WITH SCARES AND MARKS YET KEEPS TAKING THE WORK AND DELIVERS A OUTSTANDING, DEPENDABLE TRUCK THAT STANDS TALL AND IS READY FOR MORE WORK. THIS F250 DREW ME IN BECAUSE IT IS A VERY HONEST NO QUESTIONS TRUCK THAT LEAVES NO QUESTIONS UNANSWERED AND CLEARLY IS NOT HIDING ANYTHING AND I LOVE THE WAY THIS TRUCK LOOKS. I TRULY HOPE THAT THIS TRUCK WILL BE PRESERVED AND IN ENJOYED IN HER ORIGINAL STATE.

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE IN-DEPTH DESCRIPTIONS AND SCROLL TO THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE TEXT TO SEE THE 150 LARGE DETAILED PICS FOLLOWED BY A WALK AROUND VIDEO THAT ALSO HAS A BANNER ABOVE THAT WITH A LINK TO THE RUNNING AND DRIVING VIDEO. NO RESERVE! HIGH BIDDER TAKES IT HOME!!

WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE HUNT FOR CLEAN CLASSICS BUT ESPECIALLY ORIGINAL SURVIVORS AND CLASSIC TRUCKS, SO THIS TRUCK BEING THE PERFECT COMBO OF THE TWO WE COULDN'T LEAVE WITHOUT IT. THAT OF COURSE IS ALSO MY DOWN FALL AND SOMETIMES I GET EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED IN VEHICLES THAT ARE ORIGINAL SURVIVORS AND WHAT KIND OF STORIES THEY CAN TELL BY NOT ONLY THE LOVE THEY SHOW THEY RECEIVED, BUT ALSO THE SCUFFS AND BUMPS. THIS TO SOME PEOPLE IS ALSO OFTEN CALLED A PROBLEM OR CAR HORDING:), SO WE ARE GOING TO BE LISTING A FEW GREAT SURVIVORS! THIS TRUCK COMES WITH IT’S ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL AND BESIDES THE ALUMINUM RADIATO, REGULAR MAINTENANCEITEMS AND THE LATE MODEL FORD ALCOA WHEELS THIS TRUCK IS AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY. THE ENTIRE TRUCK TO OVERALL BE THIS CLEAN, ORIGINAL AND INTACT SHOWS THE LOVE, CARE AND PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP EVERY OWNER GAVE THIS TRUCK IN THE LAST 40 YEARS. THIS TRUCK HAS NICE SOLID OPENING AND CLOSING DOORS FREE OF ANY DOOR SAG THAT GIVE THAT SOLID POP SOUND WHEN THE DOOR HANDLE IS PULLED AND THAT BEAUTIFUL DEEP SOLID BRIEFCASE LIKE SOUND EVERY CAR GUYLOVES TO HEAR WHEN CLOSING THE HEAVY DOOR ON A CLASSIC. THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY EASY TO TURN, STEERS, BRAKES AND TRACKS STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH.

BODY-THE BODYON THIS TRUCK IS TRULY WHATDREW ME IN AND THE MOST INCREDIBLE PART OF THIS TRUCK. THE FACTORY ORIGINAL 1978 LACQUER PAINT STILL HAS A BEAUTIFUL DEEP HIGH GLOSS SHINE WITH NO MAJOR RUST, DENTS OR DAMAGE.THE SLIGHT PATINA WITH THE VERY GLOSSY ORIGINAL ROOT BEER BROWN AND CREAM PAINTHAS ALL THE RIGHT LOOK AND AGE MOST OF US ARE LOOKING FOR ON A SURVIVOR TRUCK.THIS TRUCK COMES FULLY LOADED WITH THE RANGER PACKAGE INCLUDING THE ADDED CHROME TRIM TO THE ALUMINUM GRILL AND THE REAR SLIDER WINDOW. THE GLOSSY AGED WHITE ORIGINAL PAINTED FORD LETTERS ON THE BACK TAILGATE LOOKS KILLER.YOU CAN TELL BY ONE GLANCE HOW SOLID AND HONEST THIS TRUCK IS BY THE PICS ON THE TOP OF THE ROCKERS, BOTTOM OF DOORS, UNDER SIDE OF HOOD, BODY MOUNTS, UNDERSIDE OF ROCKERS, CAB CORNERS, BOTTOM SIDE OF BED, REAR BED CORNERS, INNER WHEEL WELLS AND ALL THE OTHER HIGH RUST AREAS ON THIS GENERATION OF FORD. IT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE HOW NICE THIS BODY IS AND HOW KILLER LOOKING THIS PAINT IS. IT IS ONE THING TO HAVE AGE AND PATINA, BUT TO HAVE THE APPEALING LOOKING PATINA IN ALL THE RIGHT SPOTS LIKE THIS TRUCK IS HARD TO FIND AND IT IS TRULY A ONE OF A KIND TRUCK! THIS CLASSIC HAS A STRAIGHT BODY, BUT CLEARLY SHOWS AGE WITH 40 YEAR OLD PAINT WEAR WITH SMALL CHIPS, MINOR DENTS, AND LITTLE SURFACE SCRATCHES, BUT TO ME THAT ADDS THE DESIRE AND VALUE OF THIS TRUCK. THE ALUMINUM FRONT GRILLE IS IN GREAT CONDITION, AND HAS THE ADDED OPTION OF CHROME CUTOUTS AND CHROME AROUND THE HEADLIGHT SURROUNDS. THE FRONT BUMPER IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH MINOR WEAR, THE REAR BUMPER LOOKS GOOD, BUT DOES HAVE A SLIGHT TWEAK AT THE CORNERS. ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK ON THIS TRUCK INCLUDING THE FACTORY OVER HEAD CAB LIGHTS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DOES HAVE A COUPLE OF CRACKS AND A SMALL CHIP, NONE OF WHICH IMPAIR DRIVER VISION, AND ACTUALLY FITS THE CHARACTER OF THE TRUCK SO WE DECIDED NOT TO HAVE IT REPLACED. THE TRUCK HAS SURFACE RUST IN PLACES FROM 40 YEARS OF WEAR ON THE PAIN, BUT THIS TRUCK IS VERY SOLID WITH ONLY A FEW MINOR SMALL ACTUAL RUST SPOTS, WITH A SPOT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BOTTOM REAR DOOR CORNE, SMALL AREAR ON THE FRONT LEFT BED MOUNT, A COUPLE TINY PIN HOLES THE SIZE OF A PEN TIP ON THE PASSENGER FOOT AREA OF THE FLOOR BOARDS AND ALL ARE SHOWN IN PICTURES AND THE VIDEO. THE OUTER RUBBERS ARE SHOWING AGE WITH SOME CRACKING AND THE ORIGINAL MIRRORS HAVE SOME SURFACE RUST SPOTS WHERE THEY HAVE CHIPPED PAINT OFF WHERE THEY ARE BOLTED TO THE DOOR. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SMALL SOFT DENTS NEAR THE MIRROR BOLTS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THE TAILGATE HAS SOME PAINT WEAR ON THE EDGES, SOME SMALL SCRATCHES AND CHIPS, AND SOME MINOR DENTS. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR CORNER OF THE BED NEAR THE TOP HAS SOME PAINT TOUCH UP, AND THROUGHOUT THE TRUCK THE PAINT IS THINNING IN PLACES. I HAVE MANY CLOSE UP PICS OF THE TRIM AND PAINT THAT CAN ALSO BEEN SEEN IN THE VIDEO ALONG WITH ANY WEARIN THE PAINT, BUT IF MORE ARE NEEDED LET ME KNOW. THIS HAS BEEN A WELL LOVED AND CARED FOR CLASSIC THAT IS VERY HARD TO FIND NOT ONLY UNMOLESTED ORIGINAL CONDITIO, BUT VERY HARD TO FIND ONE OF THIS CALIBER IN THIS BEAUTIFUL AND SOLID CONDITION LIKE THIS CLASSIC HEAVY DUTY BEAUTY :)

INTERIOR-INSIDE THIS F250'S INTERIOR MATCHES AND PAIRS TO THE EXTERIOR WELL. THE CARPET HAS BEEN REMOVED SO THE FLOORS ARE BARE METAL. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF FACTORY DRAIN HOLES WHICH I POINT OUT IN THE VIDEO, AND SOME VERY MINOR RUST PIN HOLES AND PITTING ON THE FLOORBOARDS AS MENTIONED ABOVE. THE DOOR PANELS ARE IN THE EXPECTED CONDITION FOR THEIR AGE, WITH SOME WEAR AND VINYL PULLING AWAY, BUT STILL ALL THERE AND FUNCTIONAL. BOTH DOOR PANELS RATTLE, HAVE SOME SMALL CRACKS, CHIPS AND HAVE A BOLT IN THEM PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY HAD PULLED AWAY FROM THE DOOR A BIT. IT HAS A NICE AND INTACT ORIGINAL HEADLINER, AND THE DASH IS IN GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION. THE STEERING WHEEL IS IN GOOD SHAPE TOO, WITH JUST ONE AREA WHERE THE PLASTIC HAS CRACKED AND BROKEN, BUT YOU CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT PIECE ON EBAY. THE SEAT IS IN THE ORIGINAL BROWN AND TAN PATTERN AND IS COMFORTABLE AND IN OVERALL GOOD CONDITION WITH JUST A COUPLE OF CUTS IN THE MATERIAL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THEHEATER BLOWS WARM WITH A GOOD A HEATER CORE, WIPERS WORK AT BOTH SPEEDS, ALL GAUGES WORK AND ARE CLEAR. THE DOORS POP RIGHT OPEN WITH EASEAND SHUT STRAIGHT WITH NOSAGGING OR DOOR LIFTING NEEDED, BUT HAVE A LITTLE WIND NOISE COMING IN AT HIGH SPEEDS, DUE TO THE WEATHER STRIPPING BEING ORIGINAL AND HAS FLATTENED OVER THE YEARS. THE DOOR LOCKS BOTH WORK, SIDE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN, THEORIGINAL SUN VISORS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE AND MOVE FREELY AND STAY UP AMAZINGLY. INSIDE IT SHOWS IT'S AGE BUT IS ALL ORIGINAL AND FUNCTIONAL, AND TO ME ONLY ADDS TO THE CHARACTER OF THIS COOL OLD FORD!

MECHANICAL-THIS OLD FORD HAS BEEN MAINTAINED WELL THROUGHOUT THE YEARS THAT IS TIGHT AND SOLID MECHANICALLY. IT IS A VERY STRONG AND SMOOTH RUNNING TRUCK THAT UNDER THE HOOD IT LOOKS VERY STOCK, SANITARY AND FACTORY WITH THE THE ORIGINAL 400 V8 THAT ALWAYS FIRES RIGHT UP WITH JUST A COUPLE PUMPS OF THE PEDAL AND A PULL TO THE MANUAL CHOKE, IDLES NICELY WHEN WARMED UP, PULLS THROUGH ALL GEARS WITH NO HESITATION, TICKING, SMOKING, MAJOR LEAKS OR ISSUES. THE BRAKES WERE GONE THROUGH INCLUDING NEW REAR METAL BREAK LINES, SO SHE STOPS SOLID AND STRAIGHT. UP FRONT WE HAD A NEW STEERING BOX INSTALLED, POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE CARBURETOR ALL GONE THROUGH, SO IT TRACKS NICE DOWN OLD COUNTRY SIDE ROADS OR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH NO WHITE KNUCKLE RIDES OR PLAY IN THE STEERING. IT HAS THE FACTORY C6 AUTO TRANS THAT HAS TIGHT SHIFTS AND KICKS DOWN QUICKLY WHEN YOU STAND ON THE SKINNY PEDAL. MANUAL 2-SPEED TRANSFER CASE WITH MANUAL HUBS GO INTO 4WD WITH EASE AND EASILYPOPS BACK INTO 2WD MODE.THE FACTORY A/C IS ALL INTACT WITH ALL THE HARD TO FIND PARTS THERE AND THE BELT IS STILL HOOKED UP, BUT IT NO LONGER BLOWS COLD AS A/C SHOULD. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAS UPGRADED THE RADIATOR TO A NICE ALUMINUM PIECE. THERE IS A OLDER RECIEPT FROM THE LATE 90’S FOR A REBUILD OF THE ORIGINAL C6 TRANS AND THE OWNER WROTE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL TRANS AND MOTOR REBUILT. THE MOTOR IS OVERALL VERY TIGHT, CLEAN WITH PAINT THAT LOOKS A LOT CLEANER AND FRESHER THEN IT WOULD IF IT WAS ORIGINAL, SO I BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN GONE THROUGH AT SOME POINT, BUT THERE IS NO PAPERWORK ON THE MOTOR. THE INTAKE AND CARB WERE CHANGED OUT TO A 4BBL FROM THE FACTORY 2BBL AND PROBABLY WAS DONE WHEN THE MOTOR WAS OUT AS THE EDELBROCK ALUMINUM INTAKE LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN PAINTED THE SAME TIME AS THE WATER PUMP AND THE REST OF THE LONG BLOCK TO GIVE IT THAT STOCK LOOK. TO GET THAT PROPER CLASSIC HIGHBOY STANCE AND LOOK IT HAS A SET OF 285 LOAD RANGE E TIRES WRAPPED AROUND THOSE KILLER FACTORY FORGED ALCOA WHEELS OFF A MID 90S F-SERIES, BUT THE ORIGINAL STEEL WHEELS ALSO COME WITH IF THE BUYER WANTS THEM. THIS TRUCK RIDES AND SOUNDS LIKE A OLD TRUCK WITH THAT CLASSIC 70’S FORD TRUCK SOUND COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. THIS TRUCK COULD USE A FRESH EXHAUST FROMT THE MOTOR BACK IN THE NEXT YEAR OR SO AND WOULD SOUND KILLER WITH A FRESH SET OF FLOWMASTERS. IT AT ONE TIME SAT FOR 2 MONTHS IN THE GARAGE WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED AND LEFT NO LARGE PUDDLES AND FIRED RIGHT UP WITH A PULL OF THE CHOKE AND TWO PUMPS TO THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS A CLASSIC TRUCK THAT WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN AND PULLS STRONG :)

WHILE I KNOW EVERYONE'S OPINION IS DIFFERENT THIS TRUCK TO ME IS EVERYTHING AN OLD TRUCK SHOULD BE, WHILE IT HAS SOME FLAWS SHOWING ITS JOURNEY AND STORY, IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE A MODERN TRUCKBUT IT STOPS PEOPLE, STARTS CONVERSATIONS WITH STRANGERS AND STANDS UP TO ANY JOB IT IS ASKED TO. THIS TRUCK FULFILLS THAT OLD TRUCK NEED AND FEELING MOST ARE LOOKING FO, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DOSIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADESAND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHCLE OF THIS AGE. the odometer is only a 5 digit odometer and not a million mile odometer so restarts once they all get to 99999's, so with all classics in every state the paper work says exempt due to age and 5 digit odometer.

The older the car, the harder it is to define the condition of the vehicle. Most of our vehicles are specialty vehicles or are 15+ years old, and usually trucks. Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone’s satisfaction. Based on the bidder'spersonal experience, some bidders will be overly pleased with my description and pictures, and others may feel that I fell short. I postthese auctions based on how I want to see auctions when I’m buying, keeping in mind what I look for, and I try to put your eye's to what I can see and touch. Please help me by asking all questions and letting me know if other pictures are wanted. If you do not see a pic or description of a item or a area on the truck please do not assume anything and ask me about the specifics your a needing or for more pics and i will post every question asked by members so all potential bidders can see. Every car is available for inspection and i personally drive each vehicle before listing it and If anything does not work properly I will let you know. Of course I amonly human and these are mechanical creatures and these are usedvehicles, so please keep this in mind when bidding
